I was seen on time and by a friendly nurse. I had bloods taken and later received a text saying they needed to be repeated but without explaining why.

Thank you for your feedback and 4 star review. It is not uncommon for tests results to need repeating. Whilst you would receive a phone call if there was anything of significance, we will feed back to the clinical staff that you found 'no explanation' concerning and review how we may do this differently.

Somerstown Surgery
This is a review for Somerstown Surgery
The Whole Procedure was a joy - I booked a Telephone Appointment with a Dr Sinan Al Khashab for 28th April 2022 at 14.45 - right on time he rang me to assess my request and spent time asking me various questions in an attempt to diagnose the problem but decided I should attend in person at Somerstown Surgery at 4pm so he could view my ankle problem - there was no wait and within 2 mins the Dr came into the waiting room to collect me - he was very thorough, showed a great interest and I was able offer my input on the ankle problem - he was extremely kind and gave me a massive tub of Epiderm as well as dressings, also a tube of 10% Fenbid Gel . I am most grateful and hope this show of generosity wasn't to make sure I stopped calling the Surgery for Appointments for relatively minor issues (difficult for me not to see things this way as i worked as a Receptionist for a Dr's Surgery for 22 Yrs!!!).

Recent telephone call
This is a review for Kingston Crescent Surgery
We were called by Portsdown Practice to advise that my recent blood results had flagged up a potential for Type 2 Diabetes, as my blood sugar level was 42, just outside the upper normal range of 41. The ensuing conversation dealt with my current lifestyle - mainly that I was clinically obese and overweight is a critical factor in the development of diabetes. My diet of fresh fruit and vegetables plus red and white meat with no cakes, biscuits, crisps or sweets, was deemed on track and my low alcohol intake was a plus. BUT my smoking (6-8 per day) was considered a risk factor.
My recent knee replacement surgery had inhibited exercise, but my delayed recovery was now improved so I am more active & able to use a Pedal Exerciser: this is already helping me to lose weight, as well as making me feel more agile, fitter and less depressed.

Felt very safe
This is a review for Kingston Crescent Surgery
I felt very safe while waiting at surgery. Injections administered very efficiently (though I hadn't anticipated 3 instead of 1!). Would have preferred a nearer surgery than Kingston Crescent due to no car, but otherwise just fine.

Good service from this surgery but Portsdown Group Practice is poor
This is a review for Cosham Park House Surgery
Attending the Cosham Park House Surgery went well. What is really annoying is the doctor administering my vaccination informed me that I could have had the vaccination at my local surgery Crookhorn. The Portsdown Group Practice vaccination invite process requires improvement. I could easily have walked to Crookhorn but had to drive to Cosham unnecessarily.

Paulsgrove Surgery

I had a blood test today and I usually find them pretty stressful as my veins are deep and it can take a few attempts to find a vein. The person looking after me was professional, kind and got it in one... no bruising after either. Bliss!

Thank you for your kind words and feedback. We are sorry to hear you are struggling to access a routine appointment. You may well already be aware, but to clarify - you can contact us via phone at 10am Monday to Friday - but we also release appointments using the online services at 7pm, for the following day. You can also use the eConsult system (we recommend you visit our website close to 7.30am when it opens) and you will get a response with advice or referral to a clinician fairly promptly.

Thank you for your feedback. We are sorry to hear you find our system 'a joke'. If you are in acute pain that would suggest you require an urgent appointment. Whilst we acknowledge our system is not perfect, we consider our acute support to be accessible. You do need to ring as close to 8am as possible, and you may have a small wait, or have to try a couple of times to access the queue - but at that point you will be care navigated or have a call-back from a clinician. They will then discuss your medical issue and agree the best way forward whether that is a face to face appointment, medication or analgesia, referral etc.

Trying to get an appointment
This is a review for Cosham Park House Surgery
It seems to be impossible to make an appointment or even do an E consult except if only a small number of requests are made at the start of one or two particular times - having these one or two times in itself is wrong in any event.

GP arranged for real-time physio exam
This is a review for Somerstown Surgery
My GP was able to get me booked in to, albeit another surgery (Kingston), to be seen by the Physio Team very quickly, this was a relief to actually be examined by a real person (not that I am against online) but feel that I got more out of a face-to-face appointment & felt a lot more reassured about my situation.

Thank you for your comments. I can only apologise that you were firstly appointed incorrectly, and secondly then re-appointed rather than the ECG being carried out. If you could please provide us with all of the details to enable us to enable to investigate, the easiest way to do this is to complete a complaint form on our website.
