An appointment on the same day

This is a review for Cosham Park House Surgery

Managed to get an appointment on the same day which is very unusual for this surgery. Although I had a very good and efficient experience this time. It’s not been the same in the past. The surgery doesn’t have enough appointments available.

Medication review

This is a review for Cosham Park House Surgery

Would like to up dose on proprantheline bromide, pharmacist called me said she needed to speak to Yvonne who originally prescribed meds to me. Pharmacist said she was off over feb half term but I would get a text message about upping dose. It's been 3 weeks tomorrow since I spoke to pharmacist and no response.

The doctor was excellent

The doctor was excellent, dealing with me very thoroughly and thoughtfully. It was unfortunate that as I have been saving up and trying to ignore problems, that there was not time to deal with everything. Perhaps I must make a new appointment but I do think there could be an automatic follow up sometimes.

Blood test

This is a review for Crookhorn Surgery

My blood test was booked for the day of the Eunice storm. I received 3 calls from the receptionist updating me on the situation as the weather worsened. Eventually rebooking another appointment for the next day. I was very impressed that they took the trouble to keep me informed when it was clearly a difficult day for them.

At last able to see an actual doctor after over 2 years to discuss my medications and issues there off. Medications issued over the phone, required changing due to side effects, necessitating out of hours doctor's intervention. A frustrating number of weeks trying to access an actual doctor to remedy my difficulties.

Person taking my blood did not confirm it was for a fasting bloods test by asking when I last ate or drank.
I Disliked having to use a computer to sign in. Especially as there was no alcohol gel available and I was informed on asking that it is the responsibility of the cleaners to refill it and they have not done so, having been asked a couple of days previous. The potential for cross infections through a touch screen is a poor working practice and it should be every bodies responsibility in the practice to reduce the risk of cross infection, rather than a 'cleaners responsibility'.

The nurse should have confirmed when you last ate and drank as standard practice. We will share your comments with the team and take learning from your experience.

First class care

My appointments with the wonderful nurse was excellent. I was put at ease immediately, the nurse was extremely helpful and very friendly, I have had many appointments at this surgery and I have always had a positive experience. All reception staff are very helpful understanding and friendly and there is a lovely atmosphere at the surgery, the doctors are very understanding, helpful and friendly. I always feel very well taken care of. I have many complex illnesses and I feel very happy and I have always received first class care from all the staff as a team at the surgery. Thank you very much to everyone at the Crookhorn Surgery you are all amazing.
