Completely painless

Doing what it can

This is a review for Somerstown Surgery

The surgery did all possible - as usual and especially the reception staff. Their work severely undermined by the hospital system. Dr Sinan referred me for - in my opinion - a major problem with my right ear.
The hospital response to send me a letter asking me to book an appointment online turned out to be useless. NO APPOINTMENTS AVAILABLE - IF YOU DON;T HEAR FROM US BY END OF APRIL THEN SEE YOUR DOCTOR. I'm in slight pain from my ear which I am sure is infected in some way. reception is now feeding this back to Dr. Sinan. The surgery is doing what it can and usurped by the local NHS.

Somerstown Surgery

I came for a medical ordered by Social Services (I am a foster carer)
I was there at the time given by yourself (15h) and we only were 2 in the waiting room.
Then 5 more patients arrived. 30 minutes later everyone has been through apart from me. I asked the receptionist if there was a problem she advised me that she was going to email the doctor.
A doctor came to pick me up eventually, took him 5 minutes and I was out.

It does appear that for some reason either the booking in didn't work or there was an error in the system. Please accept my apologies, we look into this and try to prevent this happening again in the future.

In and out in no time

I arrived on time for my appointment and got a text as I was sat waiting to advise that due to staff sickness, my appointment had been cancelled. However the staff arranged for another nurse to carry out the blood test and I was in and out in no time

Crookhorn Lane Surgery

To be fair no complaints as surgery completely empty only receptionists there, lady could have been a little more welcoming with a smile considering they were not overly pressured. I was only having a blood pressure test from nurse so really wasn't an actual doctors appointment. Maybe I would have given a different score if seeing an actual doctor.

I am sorry that your appointment was 45 minutes late, this would usually only be due to clinical need, however you should have been informed when you signed via self-check-in or at reception. I will arrange for the signage at the site to be checked and removed where required.

This nurse tried to take my blood but failed in trying a small vein then she tried the larger vein and I told her not to wriggle the needle as it would bleed YES it bled so and caused a lot of pain with a full circle of bleed from the first go as I think she put the needle right through the small vein therefore no blood in the tube. left a dark patch under the skin 3 inch circle and a lump in the large vein for 2 weeks. So I do not need this nurse to take my blood anymore.

Cervical smear

The nurse that examined me and took the sample was ever so friendly, and put me at ease straight away.
These smear tests are never a nice experience, but it was made to be completely comfortable, and over very quickly.
