Telephone Consultation

This is a review for Cosham Park House Surgery

I needed a repeat of a item that had been prescribed to me back in October 2021. I received a text asking me to do an eConsult but the eConsult said I had to speak to a doctor. I phoned the surgery and after explaining eConsult wants me to speak to a doctor they arranged for a doctor to phone me. The doctor I spoke to was very understanding and sent a prescription to be sent to my chemist and also put the item on my repeats so I can ask for it again with no problems. Very pleased with the outcome.

I dont like the new system of trying to get an appointment with a doctor and I miss the face to face appointments as the doctor cant give an accurate diagnosis over the phone and also by having to give details to the receptionist is not good as some things that the patient needs to see a doctor for is personal.

Thank you for your feedback. In most instances doctors can assess patients over the telephone, where a face to face is required, this is assessed during triage. Our reception and contact staff are not clinicians, however they follow the guidance of clinicians to ensure that they sign post effectively.

Impressed

This is a review for Kingston Crescent Surgery

I had been struggling to get through to the surgery but when I did get to have a face to face consultation with a nurse practitioner I was genuinely really impressed. This was my first visit to this surgery after it merged with Hanway and the nurse I saw was so kind and took time to listen. I was in a real state because I suffer from extreme anxiety and she was just so understanding. Thank you.

Paulsgrove Surgery

Found doctor and nurse very approachable. However when doctor asked for ECG nurse had me stripped ready and waiting but then found despite searching and phoning her colleague at home there were no stick tabs. No great for a NHS provider to not be stocked when poor nurse had a further 4 ECGs that day.
