Thankfully this was a booked appointment, I was treated respectfully and professionally. The blood test and injection were done without any problems and didn't take too long. The professional knew how to mix and administer the injection. The whole experience was quick and without any problem.

I received a telephone call to visit surgery for face to face consultation with GP on the following Monday, I was amazed knowing how difficult it is to actually get through to the surgery let alone get an appointment within weeks, also this fact worried me as I expected some bad news due to the prompt reaction, fortunately this was not the case, when I arrived I was seen quickly by the gp - Dr Gaught, she was very informative and whilst she had not yet been sent my xrays she took steps to check the affected area, just in case there was an obvious issue, all was well in fact following her examination one of my issues was mainly resolved indicating to myself ,a layman part of the issue could have been due to a trapped nerve she inadvertently corrected -so well done. The visit was very relaxed and professionally handled, I just find all the negatives I and many others hold about the operating methods of the group practice management need serious overhaul as the doctors have always given exemplary service, under difficult protocols, it must have a damning effect on their morale.

I couldn’t park. As on crutches at the moment, this was causing a panic attack, this is not my usual surgery, after climbing stairs told you log in at bottom, I felt go home, then a voice downstairs said it’s not working, And a receptionists said oh this could take a while, it was now my appointment time, I had left an hour before to be on time. Then I said I'm going to be late, and why I was there, oh you can just go and sit in there. I know you get time wasters, but I felt Cosham unwelcoming, Kingston great, cant comment on Crookhorn reception not had the pleasure for many years.

This was my first visit to Paulsgrove Surgery. Lady in reception was very kind and helpful. Saw Dr Mosely and was treated with kindness and was given a very thorough examination including blood tests. Urgent referral letter sent to QA and I was seen there 36 hours later. Great service.

I rarely bother with feedback these days, Why? Well just about everybody is asking for one with online purchases!! Could spend half my day replying to reviews. So your request will be answered this time because my visit was, as it turns out, very exceptional!!
These days, one rarely gets to see the same nurse, for obvious reasons, so I sort of expect it. So why exceptional?
The nurse, Vicky, from memory, was very pleasant, and a good listener, The injection was fine. Then out of desperation, I asked her opinion about an eye problem, (too minor to bother a doctor!), I think was caused by too much coughing, (recent cold virus from grandaughter from her nursery lasted 3 weeks!) and I was being troubled by an itchy eye, outer extremity, maybe a burst blood vessel?, even though I was applying drops from the local pharmacist. ( Not Covid from negative Rapid Antigen test) So, she listened, and suggested I might try sometime else to relieve the itching eye. It worked OK and now my eye is fine. So, thanks to Vicky for the suggestion.

The staff are extremely pleasant. Was surrounded by 3 nurses and all of them wanted to give me an injection or take a blood sample. All were smiling and laughing while I was shaking in fear (not really). Extremely professional.

Walk in Flu vaccination.

Being told the previous week that you could attend a walk in flu vaccinations most days I decided to make sure I had mine.
On Monday I left just after 9am for the centre, only to be told I could book an appointment for a flu vaccination. I mentioned being told the previous week it was a walk in clinic,
I was asked could I come back after 12pm. I said this was not suitable [another long walk both ways], I was told I could wait if I wanted to. I asked how many people were in front of me and being told two others, I decided to wait. I made sure my arm was ready and waited [and waited]. I was at the GP's for an hour at least. What I did not realise was I must have been waiting for a doctor to vaccinate me in between their appointments. The nurses seemed to be vaccination babies and when they came out to call people more than one had asked me why I was there. It just seemed silly to me making patients wait so long in the current [Covid] situation. It would have been far better to me having a 1-2 hour slot just for walk in vaccinations.
As of today I am due my booster Covid.

Thank you for your feedback. We will not turn away any patient from having their flu vaccination, however these are not booked slots and it is your choice if you want to wait. The immunisations given by the HCAs are booked appointments and they unfortunately would not have available time in between to provide the walk in vaccinations.

The appointment went smoothly, nurse administered the flu jab quickly and easily. The main point of concern for portsdown group practice nowadays is that your receptionists seem to think they’re fully qualified doctors, and make you feel you should be privileged to actually see a doctor nowadays with all the jumping through hoops and trying to actually speak to a human being. The appointment system is dated and antiquated. Every time you phone, you’re stuck in a queue regardless of what time of day then when you do get through to either routine appointments or prescription requests the phone lines are closed for certain times of the day. I wish my job would have certain times of the day where I could just not answer the phone, but seeing how you have patients over a barrel, people just have to put up with it.

Thank you for your feedback. Our reception and contact centre staff are not clinically trained, however they follow the guidance provided by our Partners. Our appointment system is regularly monitored and we make changes where appropriate and required. We have set times for call lines, to enable us to focus the staff in the appropriate areas at the busiest times, it is a complex system that allows us to maximise the limited resources available.
