How lovely to be invited back to the surgery after so long. Hardly anything had changed, still the same old decor and NHS smell and ambiance.
I did notice that most of the waiting room chairs had vanished, maybe they got fed up of waiting (?).
No sooner had we arrived than we were ushered into a treatment room, ID confirmed, jab received and swiftly found ourselves blinking in the autumnal sunshine of the almost empty car park.
Such fun!

Kingston Crescent Surgery

On arrival there was a big organised queue but only waited a few minutes to get to the front of the queue. Once inside an excellent layout was in place to get your vaccine.

Somerstown Surgery

I arrived in good time for my appointment, there were several other people there, they were dealt with one by one. The Doctor came out and called my name, I followed him through, I had my husband with me and the Doctor mentioned because of COVID it is usually just the patient but I explained I needed him with me because I was very nervous, I sat down and went through my symptoms, he examined my tummy and said he would have to get a member of staff to come in because it was an intimate examination, she was lovely very calming and reassuring. The Doctor examined me and the receptionist went back to reception, the Doctor explained I would need some tests done, 2 stool samples, a blood test and I would have to go to the hospital and have a camera inserted, he was very good explained that it did not mean it was serious, I went back to reception and booked a blood test and she gave me what I would need for the stool sample, she was discreet and put me at ease. I then went home.

Excellent service, both of us arrived appointments 5 mins. apart. When we arrived, we logged into the system. Within minutes were called through. It was all over in under 5 minutes and all done with a smile. Thank you.

Recent face to face appointment

This is a review for Cosham Park House Surgery

Unfortunately it took myself being poorly for over 3 weeks with 2 different antibiotics (given over the phone) before I was given a face to face Appt. I feel like my illness could have been better handled and perhaps I wouldn’t have had to have so much time off work etc. My illness is still on going and I am due a blood test.

However having said that the GP and staff are amazing and I appreciate that time is not a luxury for them and they can only see so many people. However the lack of face to face appts are affecting people life’s and I fear that wrong diagnosis can be given over the phone.

Blood test

This is a review for Paulsgrove Surgery

I went there for a blood test, as request by the urology dept, Jane ask me if I would like my flu jab as I am eligible for one, I told her I suppose to have appointment on the following saturday, Jane said I will cancel that one and gave me the flu jab there and then. It saved my going out again, and while I was there Jane did other medical checks, ie blood pressure, weigh me as well. even the receptionist was helpful she made an appointment for my covid booster.

A well run flu clinic

From the booking process to the jab this was a flawless process. Even though our original booking was rescheduled automatically. There were plenty of staff present, minimal queues (less than 5 minutes) always a pleasure receiving my jabs here.
