Tried to get an appointment was told it wasn’t an emergency and there was no appointments. I was admitted into hospital that night and nearly 2 weeks later I’m still in hospital.

The telephone consultation that never happened

I requested a phone consultation as getting an appointment is unobtainable. I had one missed call that whole week (typically the 5mins out of the whole week I was unable to answer). No voicemail to say it was the gp or msg to say they had tried to call, so whether this was the surgery or not I don’t know. I then received a msg saying to call the surgery to arrange a blood test. So far it has been impossible to get through and book this test. I work full time at QAH in the microbiology dept. I can’t expect them to give me an hour every day to try calling a surgery in vain and then be waiting in a cue for another hour. Doesn’t look like I’ll get this test booked untill I can take a weeks leave purely to spend it continuously phoning.

I think this surgery has taken on more patient’s than they can cope with.
That’s why your older patients can’t get appointments. What I mean is people that have been on the books of Kingston crescent surgery. We feel let down by the practice.

I am one of those difficult patients to get blood from. However great patience was shown and the job was done. Nurse was very polite and friendly and put me at ease immediately. My blood pressure was unexpectedly taken as well and that was acceptable, bonus! Left feeling very satisfied.

I feel that if I had booked an appointment for my recent vaccinations at an allocated time then the queuing should be as per allocated times. I was given an appointment and had other appointments that day, so they should have been completed in time order and not just the queuing system that was in place. I had to get back to Cosham park house to have bloods completed or the appointments should have been made at the same venue. These were booked by yourselves and I only just made it to the second appointment due to the inappropriate untimely queue for vaccinations.

First time to the practice and reading the reviews I wasn't looking forward to it. But I found a space in the car park, managed to check in on the screen right at the entrance with ease and only waited a few short minutes before being seen by the nurse. She has happy, friendly and welcoming. Fully explained what would happen and what she was doing along with the length of time it would take the results to come through. In all was in and out in under 30mins. Got a little side tracked when leave as the place is like a maze but my nurse sent me the right way when she saw my confusion.

I spoke with Dr Whittamore for a routine appointment and was then invited in to the surgery on a Friday afternoon within the hour. This was incredible service and unexpected. Dr Whittamore is the most empathetic, sincere and helpful doctor I have seen in a very long time (I drove away thinking that he made me feel he was there to help, wanted to help and we weren’t a nuisance) and I am so grateful for his time at short notice on a Friday evening. What a credit to the group he is.

New to attending this surgery so walked straight passed the door but once inside I found reception staff to be happy and friendly, waiting area clean and tidy and well spaced out due to current situations. I was early for my appointment and as 3 ladies before me hadn't shown up I was only seated for a matter of seconds. The nurse that saw me was friendly and happy too. Very relaxed approach to what some women may hate getting done. But all in all staff and facilities clean, friendly and welcoming.
