Two doctors, no diagnosis.

This is a review for Cosham Park House Surgery

After seeing two doctors, one at Cosham Park and one at Crookhorn surgeries I am dismayed and a little disappointed to think that the diagnosis that I got from the emergency eye clinic at QA resulting in treatment for shingles was missed in both cases even though shingles was even suggested to the second doctor. The first doctor prescribed antidepressants and the second antibiotics.

First time patient at Somerstown Surgery

This is a review for Somerstown Surgery

This was my first visit to the surgery. I did find it a little difficult to find. Booking in was easy and the nurse I saw was very nice and professional. She put me at ease and made the appointment more relaxing.

It's very difficult getting a phone or face to face appointment, but when I do manage to get seen, it's good service. Just wished it wasn't so hard to get an appointment!

Doctors

This is a review for Paulsgrove Surgery

Only to reiterate as many do I suspect the issue seeing a doctor, particularly one of preference. However I do understand demand outstrips supply and bearing that in mind have always found Portsdown to be a good Health provider, although there have been staff who at times appear to lack empathy. An example of that is "if you're in that much pain ring back Monday morning" can you not just have a pain which causes discomfort. As to an ideal world and my own preferences, it would be nice to see a doctor, particularly as you age and develop multiple health problems who knows you well and understands your physiology.

Diabetes check

This is a review for Crookhorn Surgery

I was asked to book an appointment with the diabetes nurse, Was told on the phone it was just a review of my diabetes but it wasn’t when I arrived it was a blood test etc.. no real review at all.
Nurse was quite curt with me.
I would love to change surgery’s but we can’t so we are stuck with them.

B12 jab

This is a review for Cosham Park House Surgery

On time and proficient, lovely friendly but professional nurse. Shame I can never see a GP - haven't seen one (apart from a quick urgent appointment with a stand-in GP last Feb) since around September 2019. I can't go private - which is what GP's are trying to force us to do, as I have no money.

My guardian angel

This is a review for Heyward Road Surgery & Practice

I have never used Heyward surgery but I have just found that a nice young lady [lauren] works there,
she has made appoints for me and given moral support and made my dealings with my surgery [cph]
easy.
I had given up trying to make an appointment because I got fobbed off twice and ended up with fifteen
pounds extra on my phone bill.

Getting appointments

This is a review for Paulsgrove Surgery

Getting appointments to actually see a doctor involves a lot of jumping through hoops, phone first thing then told to call back at ten then wait for a phone call at home, then with a bit of luck and a fair wind you might get an appointment. The phone calls are very painful as you can be on the phone for 50 minutes ( that’s if you don’t get cut off)
