Concern trying to contact the surgery for an appointment whether by visit or by phone consultation. Queing for the call centre to answer & awaiting sometimes half an hour to speak to someone to be told no more spaces available and try again later. Not all call centre staff are polite when eventually you can speak to someone.

Thank you for your feedback. We have invested significantly in our telephone system, which attempts to match capacity with patient demand at all times. There are times of day, however, which are busier than others and, during these times, it will be more difficult to get through. We do constantly monitor the situation and, if indicated, make further investment in our communications infrastructure.

Contact for stress related anxiety

This is a review for Crookhorn Surgery

Suffering from severe stress due to a number of family crisis and heavy demanding role at work. Unable to cope with both at same time. Doctor advised me to take 1 week self declared sick then signed me off for further 2 weeks to allow me to prioritise and deal with issues. This has helped a great deal and allowed me to cope with the immediate issues a lot better. I was also advised on increasing the dosage of citalopram to reduce the feeling of anxiety.

Tetanus Vaccination

This is a review for Kingston Crescent Surgery

I was texted by the surgery because my vaccinations were not up to date. Once I had checked with friends that the text was not a scam, it was a simple process to book a time via the link on the text. Once at the surgery, I did have to wait for a while but that’s to be expected at most surgeries. The doctor was very good. She explained everything clearly and I hardly felt either of the two injections she gave me. Excellent bedside manner.

Difficult to see a doctor

ECG and blood test.

After my ECG I was told it was all ok, also the blood test I had the previous day I was told ok, then on Monday I was asked to do another Blood test. I had to spend 2 days trying to get another appointment now on 8th September.

A surgery not for the elderly.

This is a review for Kingston Crescent Surgery

Trying to do anything on the telephone connected with one's health is next to impossible. I shudder to think how the infirm cope with the seemingly endless recorded messages.
In spite of several calls telling the receptionists that my mobile phone is just that - A Phone! I still receive texts telling me to link this with that etc: All gobbldeygook to me., and I have asked repeatedly that verbal messages be left on my answerphone if necessary . Not all the elderly are computer literate.

Great support from Dr Mannings to deal with issues caused by my gallstones. Treated me urgently and kept everything moving as fast as possible. Very personal approach and kept in frequent contact to discuss with me.

Efficient service

As a new patient, was apprehensive about the whole process. E-consultation took about a week to respond to (5 working days), so within timeframe given. The practice staff (admin and the Practitioner) were efficient.
