Wrong date appointment

This is a review for Cosham Park House Surgery

I received a letter telling me that an appointment had been made for me for Friday, 13th August for blood pressure test with the HCA. There were two problems. No appointment time was given and the letter arrived on Saturday, 14th. Rather than try to sort it by phone, I walked to the surgery, where the receptionist was baffled. She said no appointment had been made for 13th, so she made and appointment for the 18th and I saw the HCA and had the test.

Advice on medication

I was disgusted. I was told to expect a call at 8.30 on 17/8. What I got at 9.10 was a text. What is going on, why can’t I speak/see a GP. The response I got wasn’t helpful in the least. Words fail me I’m so angry at the lack of service.

I don't think every patient with medical issues should be left to go online when trying to reach their doctor and using the covid as an excuse is not good enough, we are not all able to go online, I myself am not very good with technology so let's show a little compassion to those people.

Blood test

This is a review for Somerstown Surgery

My appointment was for a blood test which was excellent. But I also took a water sample with me. It was tested and I had a raging water infection. Then I was referred to triage who gave me more antibiotics, which I was unfortunately allergic to, so I have been quite poorly. I’m so grateful that the nurse sent my water sample to the hospital, so I’m hoping it will get sorted soon.

Appointment

I have the greatest admiration and gratitude for the NHS but have to say I was not pleased with how the nurse took my blood sample. Before removing the needle she strangely pressed down really hard on it which greatly hurt, and whilst doing so pulled the needle out. I have a bruise and my arm is still sore. I just felt this is not normal practice and she is performing this service incorrectly?? Maybe I am wrong but I have never had this before.

Waiting Time

On arriving in good time and checking in via a screen I duly waited, after some 40 minutes after the appointment time I had to enquire via the receptionist. I was seen a few minutes later but feel if I had not complained I would still be waiting.
