I had booked online and received a confirmation. I turned up at the surgery 5 minutes early and was taken for my blood sample on time. Only issue is parking. Patients should be allowed to park close to the surgery

Although I know there are extenuating circumstances at the moment, I couldn’t get through to the surgery for 3 weeks. Thankfully it wasn’t urgent but I still think this is unacceptable. On more than one occasion I was just told you were busy and to call back, once it took me 21 calls before I got through then got to 4 callers in front of me and was cut off. This isn’t really good enough, I don’t know how elderly people get on. When I eventually got through one morning at 8-45 I was told I had to ring at 8, that is the time I started calling.

Thank you for your feedback. We have invested significantly in our telephone system, which attempts to match capacity with patient demand at all times. There are times of day, however, which are busier than others and, during these times, it will be more difficult to get through. We do constantly monitor the situation and, if indicated, make further investment in our communications infrastructure.

Phoned line 5 from 8am as advised message from 8 to 9 said line open at 8am to12, from 9am to10am lines are very busy try again, ended up phoning line 2. Managed to book my jab, could have been much easier if the system work as described on answer phone.

Thank you for the feedback. We did open our flu booking a little earlier this year, for peace of mind for our patients. Of course, that is before we were told the delivery schedule had gone 'squiffy' for want of a better word - we hope that you had now had your flu jab (or had it rearrange if you were affected by the delivery delays!)

Pointless

I waited nearly three weeks for a call back, and got one finally but not from a doctor.
I’m suffering with a number of problems and her advise? Take more anti depressants, increase my dose to 60mg daily.
It won’t solve my problems but I’ll not care about them anymore is that it?
They also can’t seem to arrange a repeat prescription for my newly diagnosed epileptic son, leaving us panicking trying to refill it. He missed a dose the other day and had a seizure.
I despise this practice and what it has become.
It used to be amazing!

It was quick and easy to get an emergency appointment even though i did have to travel to cosham. The nurse was very kind and professional. However, its been difficult to receive my test results which should have been done by now and when i rang the surgery the receptionist said there was nothing on my notes.

The nurse was very polite and talked through the procedure that I was there for.

She also was very helpful with a couple of issues that I had. I had written a letter to the Dr but I was told by the receptionist that I was not allowed to hand a letter into the Dr. If I had posted it I assume they would have had to accept it?

I spoke to the nurse and the nurse kindly sorted out the issues. She was thoughtful enough to phone me the next day to inform me what she had been able to do.

I understand that Covid has and is still making it difficult for patients and Drs but I feel some of the receptionists could be a little more helpful.

I was told by one receptionist on a previous occasion that I knew what I could do if I didn’t like their service!

It’s such a shame that a couple of receptionists have let the surgery down. I have been extremely happy with the surgery and other staff that I have seen or spoken to.
