Very professional and friendly medical staff
This is a review for Crookhorn Surgery
As usual the medical staff were very professional and friendly with nothing being too much trouble. It's a shame the same cannot be said about some of the front of house/administrative staff.

I didn’t have to wait long. Staff are very professional, surgery very clean, feedback was good, was then recommended an appointment with a doctor which they arranged for Cosham practice the same day, very impressed.

Appointment
This is a review for Cosham Park House Surgery
As always, I turned up 15 minutes before my appointment. I received clear instructions, waited in the appropriate area, I was called and guided to the treatment room, received treatment in a polite and friendly manner..left within 15 mins...the usual experience...

Tests done at Paulsgrove Surgery
This is a review for Kingston Crescent Surgery
I had a few tests done with a lovely nurse called Jane. She was super helpful and a very warm and friendly person. She also did an ECG test for me to save me trying to get another appointment for it, and made me an appointment for another test I needed that could only be done at another surgery. Please make sure she gets this message! Thank you.

Dreadful
This is a review for Somerstown Surgery
My GP of over 30 years recently retired and my surgery merged with this one. It's awful! Can't ever get through on the phone and if you do are frequently told to hang up and call back. Appointments can only be made at certain times of the day and everything has to "go through the call system". I was stunned to be greeted at the surgery by a huge board saying they are accepting new patients!!! They can't cope with the ones they already have. The only good thing is that some of the staff are from my old surgery and are brilliant at their jobs. Hopefully they can teach the PGP staff how it should be done.

Thank you for your feedback. We are sorry that you are unhappy with the service you are receiving here.
We have recently extended our phone line queue limits. We previously limited them as patient feedback suggested patients would rather try several times to get through and speak to someone in good time, than sit in a queue for a more extended period. However we believe this has changed and therefore you should find this has changed. We do still cap queue limits to avoid patients having to wait and whilst you are advised to call back, in just a couple of minutes, the queue could reduce and you will get through.
We stagger appointment booking lines to avoid huge queues and ensure very ill patients are prioritised. You can book a number of appointments on line if you do not wish to use our call system, and can also take advantage of eConsult – a digital way of accessing our service for routine medical issues. Please visit our website for more information
We appreciate that the way we operate is very different to your previous surgery pre-merger, although we are also aware that they had long call waiting times in the months prior to closure with limited access to appointments. We do not believe our system is perfect, but we are always reviewing data and trying to improve and are aware that there is no ‘one size fits all’.
You are correct that most of the staff transferred across to our practice and they are indeed an asset to our team. However, our ‘existing’ staff are also highly trained and very capable and do not need to be taught how to do their role – we support each other. Our entire team is fantastic and they all work together to deliver the best service they can.

This was my first visit to Crookhorn surgery for a pneumonia vaccination the process was very easy from self check-in and blood pressure check. I don’t think I was there for more than 5 minutes.

Not really good enough.
This is a review for Crookhorn Surgery
With severe wrist pain on May 12th waited on the phone for over 45 minutes before speaking to Triage. Was called back 4 hours later. Got an appointment but not a Crookhorn. Saw a nurse practicioner at Cosham Park House who said he arranged a referral to X-ray but was unable to say where this would be done. On June 17 still had not had an appointment, so phoned again. Was told to phone QA and St Mary's X-ray departments myself and got a physio appointment, again at Cosham. Was told there that referral had been done but unknown to where. Phoned QA outpatients who said they did not deal with X-ray and suggested contacting surgery. Phoned both QA X-ray and St.Mary's. Neither had any record of a referral. Tried to phone surgery enquiry line. Got the "we are currently experiencing......" message. Phoned again later: "The surgery is now closed for training". Spent another hour today phoning the surgery, they referred us back to St.Mary's. St Mary's thought it might have gone to Oak Park. Oak Park said they had no record of it and suggested we contact - who? The Surgery!

We are really sorry to hear you are having trouble following up our referral request. Please contact the surgery after 3.30pm on Option 4 and ask to speak to the secretarial team. Otherwise you can email [email protected] with 'FAO Secretaries' in the header with your referral information and someone can call you on the number you provide to advise.
Our on the day 'urgent' appointment requests are all called back initially to determine the best course of action. This can be at any point within the morning or afternoon session, so could be a few hours. It is highly unusual to wait for 45 minutes. We do not have the detailed call data, but the average call waiting times on our urgent line on the 12th May was under 3 minutes. Of course this will spike and fall but if you can provide us with more information we can advise our phone provider just in case of any technical issue we are unaware of.

No Appointments
This is a review for Kingston Crescent Surgery
I recently came for a Shingles jab and this was done quickly and efficiently. While I was in the surgery I asked for an appointment to see a Dr and was told I couldn't make one I'd have to phone at 8am the next day. Have you ever tried to get through to a Receptionist on the phone? This needs addressing as it is hopeless trying to get through.
