Booked a blood test for one day, turned up and told no one on site can do it, it is a clinic day.
Had to rebook.
Arranged appointment locally for 2 days later in Somers Town, went home, checked online and found one next day in Crookhorn. Went perfectly.
Given AirMid no longer has any patient detail in it, (what is the benefit of it now ?), no idea on blood test results.

Thank you for your feedback. It's great that you have found booking blood tests online so convenient. If you want to know the outcome of your blood result, you should see them through your online access. Don't worry if it appears that is not visible, just call us after 4pm on Option 4 and we can advise of results and ensure your Online access is complete.

I have moved to this surgery since March 2021. I have tried to get an appointment by phone, by reception but no luck. They are very rigid not to book any appointment. I have been few times in the reception to book an appointment but they said no. I am very frustrated about this surgery. My family including my two daughters ( Total 4) are registered to this surgery. We could not make any appointment yet. I have been on surgery for blood test on 14 June, today is 24th of June, no test report available online. They said it will be available in 3/4 days but not yet. It is difficult to get any appointment. No GP booking slot online that completely unusual. I used to book appointment online in my previous surgery. Me and my wife are full time worker, no enough time to call and wait for 30 min in the queue. By overall, We are very unhappy and dissatisfied with this surgery.

We are very sorry to hear that you are unhappy with the service since joining us earlier this year. Without more specific information it is hard to advise or respond accurately - however you are correct that certain appointment lines do open at certain times - this is based on resource and demand. Our care coordinators are trained to direct you to the most appropriate colleague or service, so you may 'want' a GP appointment, but be advised to see a practitioner / specialist practitioner etc. Blood test results are usually in within 3-4 days and viewable online. However if you still cannot see them after this time I would recommend contacting us on Option 4 after 4pm to see. I can reassure you that if there is an issue (i.e. repeat required), we would usually contact you to advise.

We do offer appointments online - they are released at 7pm daily. However at present there is a more limited capacity as we review our routine access and rollout a new process that we believe will improve the situation.

We do hope that you notice the improvement to our routine access in the coming weeks.

I attended Somerstown practice for a shingles vaccination on 14 June and at that time I was also asked to take my blood pressure for my records. Having done this the doctor (HCA) was called as the pressure was a bit low. He said that I should drink lots of water and make an appointment to see him. The receptionist made an appointment for me at 11.10 on 18 June - I still have the appointment slip she gave me. When I arrived on 18th I was told that I did not have an appointment. I took my blood pressure and handed it to the receptionist (a different one from the one on 14 June). She said it seemed quite normal and kept it for my records.
I feel fine and am continuing to drink lots of water and wonder if I still need to see a doctor.

Slow Response

It took ages for me to get an appointment and be seen on this occasion. Many failed attempts at either getting through, or obtaining an appointment, use of the eConsult form in the end, created a lot of frustration. Patients using the eConsult need to be given more honest detail about timescales. I was initially given, by text, a two day wait time with an actual date and time I would be contacted by. When no call was received, I had the exasperation of trying to get through to speak to someone which took a few attempts. Only then was I told that text message 'is a standard text, that cannot be changed' and that the wait time was up to a week!!! I do not feel this if fair to patients that they are not made aware, especially when you are expecting a call within two days and literally keep your phone on and nearby at all times, so you dare not miss the call! I was finally seen today, which I am grateful for, but I do not feel the current system for patients works at all well and especially not the eConsult form! So sadly, on this occasion, I was not happy with the level of patient service I received.

We do have a backlog of eConsults, due to a huge spike in demand, whilst we induct new staff as part of our overall process review and resource injection- however we are endeavouring to message patients within the initial timescale to confirm a current processing time. We are sorry if this communication was not timely or clear but encourage you to use eConsult again in the future, when appropriate.

Without further details it is difficult to comment but it sounds like you were contacted for a minor surgery clinic, which should have been explained at the time of booking, and certainly before you were given any injection. The lady at the desk helped me out as being disabled and deaf and told me to wait in room until doctor called me. The doctor moved his mask so I could read his lips and he was very helpful and friendly. Hopefully am back to see him after chest x-ray and bloods are done. He said he will Tex me back when he no what going on. As I can't hear on phone. Very nice people.
