Blood test

This is a review for Kingston Crescent Surgery

On going online to check results of blood test on the 26th May I find that it says Sample Rejected. Report specimen lost/unusable. No Further Action. So I am left wondering if my blood specimen was worth being taken and if anything could actually be wrong with it or not. I have no idea.

Thank you for your feedback. With the ever-increasing demands on our services, it is simply not possible or, indeed, appropriate for all our patients to see a GP, particularly for urgent problems. All of our Nurse Practitioners and Paramedic Practitioners are fully clinically trained and supported by an on-site duty doctor if they need any assistance whatsoever.

Thank you for your feedback. List closures are not something that a Practice can decide, this has to be requested and agreed. With the demand on all GP Practices across the City this would have a huge impact on them, who are also in the same position as us. We are not looking to apply for list closure currently and will continue to make improvements to access where we can.

Helpful staff

When I arrived the automatic book in screen wasn’t working but the receptionist was really helpful and spent time booking me in and chatting.. the reception area is well organised and always immaculate.
I waited two or three minutes to see the nurse, she was cheerful and nice.

Asking for review of bloods/ diagnosis

This is a review for Paulsgrove Surgery

GP himself was nice enough, but I was asking if I had a diagnosis. To which he did give but no more information or support given other than when to have repeat bloods.
As a whole since March under the Portsdown group practice the only communication I have received is via text when given blood results and starting medication, when I have phoned to ask no one has been forthcoming with information. Although a pharmacist who I made an appointment with was so helpful.
When I have spoken to someone it has never been the same person, so I have had to re explain all.
If this was not a new thing then I would understand having a text, but for me who its all new and awaiting results with +\- a diagnosis. These results are putting our family planning on hold, and could effect any pregnancy's - so support would have been greatly received.

Polite, courteous, efficient

B12 appointment at Cosham Park House on 26 May 2021.
HCA was extremely pleasant, courteous and professional. I had previously met her before and found her to be very pleasant and efficient. This was particularly important given my previous very unpleasant encounter at Paulsgrove Branch Surgery in March.
It is possible to have a mutually acceptable professional relationship with staff but this requires co-operation on both sides.

Review of recent visit

This is a review for Cosham Park House Surgery

Getting through to the surgery for a routine appointment was very difficult. I called 20 times before being put in a queue. Having been advised to call back the following day for an urgent appointment at least I was put in a queue straight away. Staff at the surgery were approachable and professional. See below for issue regarding COVID precautions.
