Cosham Park House Surgery

The surgery was really quiet and the chairs were spaced well. 5 patients in all. I arrived 15 minutes before my appointment. The receptionists were chatting and I could hear everything being said. 40 minutes later I heard one of them tell the other that she forgot to register me as arriving. She nervously came around the corner to see if I was there. I was waiting for 45 minutes in a lot of pain. The receptionist could have apologised and been honest about her mistake.. I feel it's really unprofessional and disrespectful. That aside, the doctor was brilliant.

Advice for rash

Problem getting through to the surgery

This is a review for Cosham Park House Surgery

It is very difficult to get through to the surgery. For example I was requested to book a routine telephone appointment and that took me 4 days and 30 phone calls to achieve. You have to ring dead on 10 am but the message is " we are receiving a high volume of calls, please ring in a moment." If you have not succeeded to get in the queue before 10.10 am, all the appointments have gone. You cannot book for a day ahead and there are no phone appointments listed on the website. So you have to start again each day. Once in a queue you don't have to wait long to speak to someone. I would rather be in a queue for longer and know that at least I was getting somewhere than having to keep phoning minute after minute and day after day.

Good service but only once I could gain access!

This is a review for Crookhorn Surgery

I found it very difficult to gain access to my GP. Either I'd phone outside the narrowly defined permitted hours, or the line was busy and the system would tell me to call back later and then just hang up on me, or there were no appointments available that day (and it's not allowed to book for any other day), and there were no appointments available to book online. After about 2 weeks of messing around like this, a member of staff finally pointed me towards an e-Consult. Once I knew the magic words, I successfully opened an e-Consult, and everything went well from that point onwards. The e-Consult process was more efficient for me (and I suspect for the GP too) than a conventional face to face appointment, and I would use this service again. The only downside of the e-Consult is that I feel slightly uneasy that the GP has never actually seen my problem (although it has been confirmed through testing).

Surgery review

This is a review for Somerstown Surgery

I struggle to book appointments, having to call at different times for urgent and routine is confusing. The lines are engaged from the second they open and within 15-20mins all the appointments will be gone. I have used E consult with varying degrees of success. I have however had a call back from the doctor after e consult which is excellent. All the staff are amazing very helpful, listen to your issues, they are fab when it comes to kids and have got me in to see a doctor really quickly when we have problem with our little boy. Its really good that they can refer you to different surgeries.
