Thank you for your feedback and we are sorry that you describe your experience of booking a blood test as disappointing. We usually have nursing appointments available up to 4 weeks in advance, though this has not been the case recently as we settle into our COVID vaccination programme. However, we are putting most clinics on in advance again (except Kingston Crescent as it is our designated vaccination site so we have no choice but to be shorter notice there) so you should find this short term issue has resolved. Please don't forget you can also book blood tests using the patient online services!

Routine GP appointments are limited, and we are currently undertaking extensive work on routine access and eConsults to maximise capacity. We have an extensive healthcare team to assist you, as a GP may not always be the most appropriate member of the team. We can assure you we are still here!

Our urgent access remains consistent but we are aware routine access is strained as we cope with increasing demand - it is something we are currently working on, particularly around eConsult. Whilst our routine phone lines are open during the day when your wife is at work, we do endeavour to release a limited number of routine telephone appointment son our online system at 7pm each night.

Thank you for your feedback. I am sorry to hear you are finding it difficult to access our services, however a GP is not always the most appropriate clinician. Our current telephone waiting times are not anywhere near an hour on urgent and routine lines, so if you have experienced this we do urge you to contact us with the date/time/number of phone used to call the practice, so we can investigate.

We moved to an on the day routine booking service at the beginning of COVID in 2020 - this is following national advice and also meant there was less disruption to patients when we had periods of high COVID related absence. At present this still works well around current demand, and total triage is still following national guidance for now.

Our nurse appointments were previously available to book up to 4 weeks in advance. We are fortunate that our nursing team can assist with the COVID vaccination programme, so we can share the work out and still offer GP access. For this reason, we have been unable to put too many clinics on too far in advance in case of vaccination deliveries - we often get confirmation around a week in advance, sometimes less. However we do put some nursing appointments (including routine GP telephone appointments) online - so we encourage you to try this approach.

We are really pleased with the additional access that eConsult provides for patients - and the ability to send photos for appropriate conditions. It often negates the need for a face to face appointment, although this will always be an option if the clinician considers it appropriate.
