Asthma management

This is a review for Kingston Crescent Surgery

Treated with respect & given time by the nurse practitioner I saw, tho' had been told I would be seeing someone from the respiratory team. The nurse also confirmed that my request for a consult with the respiratory team of 2 weeks previous was still open as a task on my notes. Was pleased with her suggested treatment plan following discussion with her colleagues in the respiratory team. I am coming to the end of the medication prescribed now & will wait & see if my asthma stays under control

Sicknote extension

This is a review for Kingston Crescent Surgery

I requested online to get sicknote extension but was refused as was week before expires however the previous one took 2 weeks which causes me issue with my employer. So I called in and receptionist said would ask dr directly to spread up no electronic follow up request needed. I called back a week later and nothing done - that receptionist said she would also send to dr.
Dr Monnery the next day sent me text but he forgot to add the sicknote attachment.
I had to call back but admin line shut in morning so disconnected after waiting then hearing that message.
Rang back in afternoon, queue line of 12 but receptionist did instantly send by the text the sicknote I required.

Covid Secure

This is a review for Somerstown Surgery

The receptionist took the patients temperature on arrival and then directed to the self check- in. Wipes were provided for cleaning. Waiting area was using Covid guidelines, chairs were distanced apart. Medical practitioner (Nurse) put me at ease and we had a little chat whilst she carried out the procedure.

I was a bit anxious about attending the surgery but the staff were lovely, the seating area is well layed out and screens at reception. My appointment was on time and my blood was taken painlessly and quickly.

Great once you actually get an appointment

This is a review for Paulsgrove Surgery

It took two weeks to actually get an appointment as the phone system is useless. You have to phone at 10am but they only have a handful of appointments available. The system kicks you off if you miss it by a split second. After loads of attempts I was told to do an e consult which told me to ring 111. I knew I needed my GP as I needed to change the dose of my medication. Eventually after two weeks a receptionist had to put the e consult through as an admin request. I was then text to say to expect a phone call on Monday. No phone call but the GP phoned on Tuesday and was really helpful and understanding. If it hadn’t have been for the admin/phone system error I would have rated higher as the GP really took the time to listen, understand and advise.

Disrespectful operator

This is a review for Somerstown Surgery

On first consultation nothing to complain about, apart from still waiting to hear about blood test and blood pressure check, dont know when they are going to happen.
Second consultation never happened never happened as doctor called when i was at work, when i called the operator was very rude and disrespectful, telling me that as i had my symptoms for 6 months waiting another week for a call back shouldn't be a problem, i didn't realise that the operator has access to my e-consultation i would of presumed it was private and not open to anyone other than doctor/nurse.

After having a review of my medication via phone call, I was asked to come for a blood test. I managed to get an appointment within days. That was done efficiently and by a cheerful nurse. Within 24 hours I had a call from Dr Manning, who immediately put me at ease, he just wanted to increase my tablet. I am very satisfied with the efficiency of this experience.
