Felt completely safe

I feel the service delivered by the surgery has improved greatly in the last year, particularly with the online service offered. I think that the pandemic restrictions have been dealt with really well and I have felt completely safe when visiting the surgery

Covid-19 jab

I would've given a 5 because everyone was very good when I went for my Covid-19 jab but what let's everyone down is trying to get through by phone and getting an appointment.

Have never been to this surgery before and as we do not know the area, had to follow satnav but was difficult because the road we needed is permanently closed off now, so had to abandon car and follow satnav on foot. Made us late.

Thank you for your feedback. We have discovered that some satnav's do not 'like' our postcode and send you to the wrong part of town, sometimes on the other side of the main road! We are reviewing our information to make this clearer. We are sorry this made you late but hope that you were able to attend your appointment - and at least now you know where we are!

Cannot fault the receptionists! Very helpful indeed. Phoning the call centre for an appointment is a absolute disgrace!! Fobbed off! 2 out of 10!! Every time the phone goes dead? Too busy to answer? Call back later? I rest my case!! Worse than a joke? Perhaps someone would like to turn up at our property and sit with me and try?

Thank you for your feedback. We are an appointment led service with finite capacity so it is important to call when advised. We have experienced capacity issues due to higher htan usual staff absences. The line should not just go dead, so we would invite you to give more detail about number used / times etc to [email protected] for us to liaise with our phone provider. You can also book appointments on line (we try to offer this as well as phone) and we strongly recommend that you use our econsult service for all routine queries - as this often saves a phone call!

Poor show

This is a review for Somerstown Surgery

I find it very difficult to contact the surgery, there are certain times you can ring and lots of times you can’t . When you do eventually get through you are then held on hold for a long time or indeed told to call later . The app does not give me options to make appointments although it used to , once you do actually visit the surgery it all seems to work well and you are allocated a whole 5 minutes to speak to the clinician

Thank you for your feedback. We have invested significantly in our telephone system, which attempts to match capacity with patient demand at all times. There are times of day, however, which are busier than others and, during these times, it will be more difficult to get through. We do constantly monitor the situation and, if indicated, make changes where possible.

Without specific details I cannot be 100% accurate - however if you submitted an econsult on Thursday, you should have been given a 48 working hour deadline for response i.e. 6.30pm on Monday 22nd February. It is not a 24 hour turnaround. A response does not necessarily mean a call back. Your econsult will be assessed and the most appropriate action will be taken. We often update patients via text where possible.

What can I say, the staff at Kingston Crescent had a professional approach to fact that what they were doing was possibly mundane, but they kept smiling and allowed me to spread some humour amongst the staff.
For example;- I was told to wait outside the office where the injection was taking place inside, so I ask "Who was doing the injection Eric Bristow, from that distance." The staff deserve all the praise they are entitled too. WELL DONE ALL OF YOU IT WAS A FIVE STAR PERFORMANCE !!!

Lovely Experience

This is a review for Heyward Road Surgery & Practice

After my last visit to the Kingston Crescent surgery, where I felt I was not treated at all well, and spoken down to by a rude receptionist. This visit was entirely different, I had wait to get into the surgery but this was due to trying to keep us all safe through social distancing. The receptionist was very friendly and efficient. The nurse who gave my B12 injection was great, I was so glad to see her as I thought she had left when Hanway closed. She is a credit to your Practice and makes me feel at ease every time I see her. If I have the choice I know which surgery I will be visiting.

Whilst we are disappointed to hear that a previous visit did not meet your expectations, we are thrilled that you found our service to be safe and efficient at Somerstown. We are very happy that a number of Hanway staff have stayed on at the practice following the merger and fully agree that they are a credit to our practice and we are thrilled that they remain on our team. Most clinical staff do work across sites, so you may well see a familiar face elsewhere - but when it comes to routine appointments, you can choose where you would like to go!
