Thank you for your feedback. We have invested significantly in our telephone system, which attempts to match capacity with patient demand at all times. There are times of day, however, which are busier than others and, during these times, it will be more difficult to get through. We do constantly monitor the situation and, if indicated, make further investment in our communications infrastructure.

Thank you for your feedback and I'm very sorry that you did not feel the service met your expectations. Whilst I can promise the nurses tailor their advice to individual patients and do not read from a script, when reviewing patients with long term conditions there are certain bits of information that we need to record, and we do this through a template - so this may be what you refer to. Currently, the majority of our work is done over the telephone. This came in during the first lockdown and we don't anticipate it changing in the near future. Of course, if it is deemed appropriate that face to face consultation is required, we would arrange that with you. Due to this change in practice, quite often we give an indication of a phone call rather than a specific time - as calls can overrun just as face to face clinics can. If when a member of staff tries to call you they cannot get through, they will record the attempted contact and try again at a later time. They will often try again slightly later rather than immediately after, as they would not necessarily expect the patient to be available so soon after they could not connect. I'm sorry this wasn't made clearer to you when the nurse tried to explain.
