This is a review for Somerstown Surgery

As I approached the front desk I was stopped and my temperature was taken (excellent due to COVID-19) I then made an appointment which was the same day and at 3:00 I had my flu jab along with a tetanus jab and a polio jab which I didn’t expect but overall nothing was too much for any staff working there receptionist was great along with the nurse, definitely recommend this surgery.

Cholesterol review

This is a review for Crookhorn Surgery

Booked for a blood test to review cholesterol after being on statins for 3 months. Appointment booked and bloods taken. Friendly and efficient service. Full blood & U&E’s reviewed on my record but doesn’t show any test for cholesterol done. Not sure if this is right?

I would recommend Crookhorn Lane Surgery. The doctors and reception staff have always been helpful. I have been referred if needed and I had confidence that they would offer the correct treatment in a timely manner.

They do, however, work in what can, at times, be a stressful environment and have to endure unacceptable levels of abuse. I have used the e consult service a few times now and find it to be very useful . The go always gets back to me in the 2 day window and as a shift worker it fits into my working pattern .

Fab Doctors

The Doctors are the surgery are fabulous. Unfortunately the same can’t be said for the call centre staff, don’t get me wrong there are a couple of very helpful and polite ladies and a gentleman but the others are just plain rude! I know we are living in strange times at the moment but a little understanding and empathy goes a long way! Also, I’ve waited for a call from the respiratory team for 6 weeks following an ‘urgent’ referral.

Poor signage

Having never attended here before I was unaware of the Disability Parking there are NO signs, also despite having raised this next point with Maria Martin it still displays the advice of phoning 111 when since the very first lockdown it's bee GO ON LINE, despite mentioning it a shrug of the shoulders says it all.

Lovely nurse but needle skills need improvement

Went to the surgery for a blood test @8:10am on the 2nd of November. My right arm was stabbed extremely painfully. Managed to take some blood from my left arm. Both of my arms left in pain. Too painful for me to lift heavy stuff for two days after. There is a big bruise on my left arm, as big as my palm until now 8 days after. The nurse was a sweet lady. She is lovely and friendly but it would be better if her needle skills are improved.

Kingston crescent review

This is a review for Kingston Crescent Surgery

I have covered my main concerns in the second part of this review, which are that the counter staff are some of the worst I have ever met, and that it is almost impossible to book an appointment to see a doctor. I was told by my doctor to make a second appointment in two weeks time, but I tried on the phone every ten minutes from 10am, (as advised) for two and a half hours, then every half hour til 2pm without any luck.

Thank you for your feedback. We have invested significantly in our telephone system, which attempts to match capacity with patient demand at all times. There are times of day, however, which are busier than others and, during these times, it will be more difficult to get through. We do constantly monitor the situation and, if indicated, make further investment in our communications infrastructure.

How I found my visit to my surgery under lockdown conditions

From arriving at the surgery door to having my injections etc the two staff I met in their line of duty acted very professional and kind. I was the only patient there at my given time, and everything I could see in the whole building was spotlessly clean.
