Am having a problem about my prescription, my granddaughter miss placed my tablets, phoned the GP and i fot another packet. When it finished, i took my prescription to the chemist, went back after 7days to collect the tablets, only to be told that the GP didn't send it back to the chemist. So i go for days without taking the tablets.

After a wait on the telephone to get through to you I called to make a appointment to see a doctor regarding X Ray results. Not knowing the new system I was told the doctor would phone me. They didn't. I wanted to ask another question but the receptionist abruptly put down the receiver. Any other reasons to deal with yourselves have been satisfactory.

It took me 1/2 hour to get a blood test appointment which will happen in 10/7. Let’s hope it’s nothing that needed urgent attention...

Thank you for your feedback, we are currently working hard to reduce our 'Do Not Attends,' in October at Kingston Crescent 135 appointments were not attended, this is a total of lost clinician time of 55.3 hours or 2.3 weeks, an average cost of £1,729. If these had been cancelled more appointments would have been available to others.

Contact with surgery

5 out of 5 stars

This is a review for Cosham Park House Surgery

workingfeedback logo
My husband has Dementia, we recently attended Cosham Park House because he had some possibly related health issues, we saw Adam, a number of tests were arranged, these all happened within 2weeks. I did feel we waited quite long for the results so I rang the surgery, it took a week for a call back but as all results were clear that was ok, while at the surgery we were treated with understanding and respect, caring for someone with Dementia is very difficult currently but I felt supported and listened to at each contact.

Using econsult

3 out of 5 stars

This is a review for Somerstown Surgery

workingfeedback logo
I had a problem getting through on the telephone it kept cutting me off and this was throughout the day so I thought I would try e-consult no mean feat for me as I am 75 yrs old! I did this on the Thursday and heard nothing. I stated that I would prefer that if contacted by phone to use my land line number. I discovered that a message had been left on my mobile on the Monday which I did not find until days later as I rarely use my mobile as having hearing problems I don’t always hear it ring. I found this all very frustrating and as yet have not bothered to contact the surgery again. Being a trained nurse for 47 yrs It was a case of heal thyself except I still need to sort out a medication problem which requires a consult with a GP.

Thank you for your feedback. We have invested significantly in our telephone system, which attempts to match capacity with patient demand at all times. There are times of day, however, which are busier than others and, during these times, it will be more difficult to get through. We do constantly monitor the situation and, if indicated, make further investment in our communications infrastructure.

A result for my treatment

5 out of 5 stars

This is a review for Kingston Crescent Surgery

workingfeedback logo
Having had a redness and soreness around my ear and face since March time 2020, I visited the practice first time and was given a treatment for Rosacea. I used the treatment given, but alas it continued. Next time I saw a different person and checking me over, she wondered if the face masks that I was wearing was the culprit. I used the mild steroid cream given and changed my masks to a thin cotton one, and low and behold that was what was making my face red and sore.

FRUSTRATED!!!

Our experience with Somerstown and Haywards Road surgeries is very good. My issue is with trying to get an appointment and even speaking to somebody. We don't regularly request appointments, consequently I can't remember the time slot to ring for an appointment.
Success surgery not engaged, answer machine responds with important message from Dr Ozzard followed by options. If lucky you are informed you are XX in the queue followed by music and updates, including "Your call is important to us, thank you". Really! Expectations build as you get close to being answered, then the line cuts out, so you start again. Eventually you make contact to be told appointment line is closed or there are no more appointments, either way you have to ring again immediately the lines reopen, and not a second before or after. My wife due a Cervical Screening, not covered by the on-line appointment system. I find the whole process stressful and frustrating.

Mixed Bag...

3 out of 5 stars

This is a review for Cosham Park House Surgery

workingfeedback logo
My family has been registered with this practice since it came into being. (Before that we were with the old doctor across the road who worked out of a bungalow, so talking early 1960’s.) There have been many changes. Lately not for the better as far as we can see. Most things are now on-line, so if you are not computer literate you might get overlooked. Especially with current crisis where going to the surgery to book anything is not encouraged. The receptionist are always helpful, friendly and do the best they can with at least one hand tied behind their back. (They have to follow the booking system rules etc!)
I WAS impressed however, when a blood test came back with concerns and we received an incoming call and this was dealt with. But it truly does seem that the 21st C is all about not seeing anyone and just discussing on the phone? Not really what you want when half of the symptoms need to be checked by a professional? (Although there is the AVS – Acute Visiting Service via 111 who will be sent out if the GP who triage’s you has concerns.)
But as I say, not very user friendly if you are not computer literate or persistant…

Thank you for your feedback, we are constantly looking at ways of improving access to our patients, at a challenging time for the NHS in general and for Primary Care in particular. In October the average waiting time for a call to be answered was 4.09 minutes at our busiest morning period and 0.41 minutes for the afternoon period. We answered an average of 433 calls in the morning and an average of 219 calls in the afternoon.
