I was trying to book a flu vaccination following a message left for me to do so. It took three days of trying to get through. I initially opted for 4 on the telephone answering service, to be informed I would have to ring back in the afternoon. I did so, with every time receiving a message informing me to hang up as a result of them being busy. Next day I rang in the afternoon opted for 4 again after a few hang up and try again, I got through and was number 15 in the queue. An hour later at number 5 in queue I was told to hang up and try again and the line went dead. I rang to change my number option to book an appointment to be told . I must ring in the morning. Have you ever endured listening to bad music and a voice informing you 'your call is important and we are sorry for the delay' for nearly an hour. Third day I got through to the surgery to book an appointment following being number five in the queue despite me ringing before the 10am opening of the lines. For a service dealing with ill people the whole experience is extremely poor.

Thank you for your feedback. We have invested significantly in our telephone system, which attempts to match capacity with patient demand at all times. There are times of day, however, which are busier than others and, during these times, it will be more difficult to get through. We do constantly monitor the situation and, if indicated, make further investment in our communications infrastructure.
