The staff at the surgery are always friendly and I saw them make an extra effort for those people who needed it.
Personally, I don't like the automated systems Portsdown Group Practice have introduced in the past few years and I have heard they have closed/are going to close the Heyward Rd Surgery which is my local surgery.
The Somerstown Surgery looks like it is a good size but it is SO impersonal (and was before Covid)
The sliding door into the building makes a loud noise everytime it opens and has done so for a long time. I am not sure if this is an issue for the surgery or building owners but it needs sorting.
Generally - I am grateful for the NHS and see caring people doing the best they can in a system that is being deliberately broken.

I'm with this surgery for more than ten years. Most of the doctors and nurses are very friendly and helpful, but some of the old ladies in the reception behaved very rude, no smile on their face or no friendly talk. Sorry!

They do, however, work in what can, at times, be a stressful environment and have to endure unacceptable levels of abuse. Seeing doctors on line, on the phone, by video clip or by any other means than face to face in a surgery is
a)damaging to patient/doctor relationship
b)damaging for correct diagnosis
c)assumes that all patients can be treated correctly, by remote means. This can mean that the patient can be completely given an incorrect diagnosis and provided with the wrong medication.

Covid-19 rules you had in place we’re very good. Organised and efficient on arrival and able to maintain 2 metre social distance at all time. Felt very safe.

For three weeks running I was given an appointment, for within two hours of asking. I regarded the recurring problem as urgent but at best hoped for appointments for within one or two days after making the request. To my knowledge, none of my friends or family get support like that at their surgeries.

Phoned QA as instructed and was informed my referral had been rejected. Waited for the surgery to contact me with further instruction or information. I gave up waiting phoned the surgery who knew nothing about the rejection but, will relay the situation to the Nurse Practictioner who wIll be in contact with me. Gave up waiting after 8 days and phoned the Practice again !
The Nurse Practictioner finally contacted me asked how I was and if the pain was any better or worse. I informed him the pain had subdued at which he suggested that we leave it there and if the pain returned to contact the practice. There was no explanation as to the QA rejection or why it took me three Weeks and two attempts for someone to contact me !

Inconsistent messaging and inflexible processess

Messaging changes depending who you speak to. Processes are extreamly Regid not taking into account the complexity of illness/situations of patients. Tried to make a complaint about my personal circumstance and was basically just quotes the process and policies which I already understood.

Been with Cosham Park House for about 12 Yr now, wouldn't ever change, never had many issues, nothing you wouldn't expect being a busy surgery, just wish there was more available appointments when needed but I respect its not that easy and you're all do ur best to make needs meet the patients and offer what you can to everyone.

Great service when you talk to staff. Issue is being able to talk to someone in the first place, telephone ping pong, records saying "patient advised" when I sit here having received no feedback. Follow up is sometimes a bit patchy. Inability to email someone regarding someone to get feedback would help and reduce phone calls. But still a great service.

Level access with Covid precautions. Reception staff polite and willing. Leaving the building by same door meant calling up few stairs to ask to be let out. Fine when staff are so willing but would be different if many people around.
