Prescription Fiasco

This is a review for Cosham Park House Surgery

I take three medicines regularly, and have done for many years. At the end of June I needed a repeat prescription, which I was told needed to be requested through the pharmacy. It was requested twice by them by e-mail. I also rang up several times, and sent the practice e-mails. I heard nothing from Cosham Park House at all. In the end I made a formal complaint, as I was running out of medication. At the beginning of August I finally received a 'phone call from one of the doctors informing me that I needed to have a blood test. I eventually received my medication, and had the blood test. It was a normal blood test, not a fasting one, but now I have been told that my cholesterol is high! If they ever spoke to the patients it would be a great help!

Thank you for your feedback. We have invested significantly in our telephone system, which attempts to match capacity with patient demand at all times. There are times of day, however, which are busier than others and, during these times, it will be more difficult to get through. We do constantly monitor the situation and, if indicated, make further investment in our communications infrastructure.

Treatment

This is a review for Cosham Park House Surgery

As a long term patient with a leg ulcer I am treated twice weekly, due to circumstances beyond my control I was sent to Cosham Park Surgery which was my normal surgery, but since the Covid Pandemic and a panic button being pressed I was switched to Crookhorn Surgery where my nurse was relocated. Having arrived at Cosham and the nurse proceeded to remove my dressings and attend to my leg, unfortunately she didn't have all the necessary bandages, so a first layer net that covers my skin was REUSED along with the outer covering of yellow line. Because the surgery didn't have any. Which isn't an ideal situation. Fortunately, there was no reaction to this as on the Tuesday I attended Crookhorn and has the leg redressed as normal.

Fantastic, once you can get past the abysmal telephone system

This is a review for Crookhorn Surgery

Once in the surgery cannot fault the practice. Staff are lovely and helpful. The telephone system has been designed to dissuade you from making contact though.

The receptionist tried to get me the earliest appointment as nothing by mouth for twelve hours which was very kind of her.
I was booked in for an 0930 appointment which was carried out on time and with no hassle very appreciative.

Thank you for your feedback. With the ever-increasing demands on our services, it is simply not possible or, indeed, appropriate for all our patients to see a GP, particularly for urgent problems. All of our Nurse Practitioners and Paramedic Practitioners are fully clinically trained and supported by an on-site duty doctor if they need any assistance whatsoever.

Very impressed with the speed in which I was helped

This is a review for Cosham Park House Surgery

I couldn't get an appointment to see my GP, they suggested I ring 111 after 6.30pm. I called them, they took all my details and later on in the evening a doctor from the Practice called me wanting to know my symptoms and asked me to take some photos and send them to him. This I done and he called back within half an hour with his diagnosis and a prescription. He arranged to get it sent to Drayton Pharmacy, I could have either collected or have it delivered for a fee. I am very impressed the speed that I was helped, I believe if I had waited until today to call the GP again, there would not have been any appointments.

Waiting Time

Although the Surgery was almost empty and I arrived 5 minutes before my appointment time I was 25 minutes late going in which I thought was excessive.
However, once in I couldn't fault the way I was dealt with.
