Pretty poor and getting worse

This is a review for Somerstown Surgery

After being invited by the practice to attend a diabetic review it took me several attempts to make an appointment. This cannot for some reason be done on line at the moment and telephone appointments are only issued between 10.00 and 13.00 hrs, not really easy if you have to work. Then when you attend your appointment you find the nurse has only been allocated 5 minutes instead of the required 15 . So I then had to go through it all again to get my appointment completed.

Staff were great

Efficient. Was seen on time. Staff were great. Slight hiccup with blood test due to faulty equipment though but the nurse was great

Wanted a drs appt but given a phone call instead call

The practitioner called and left a message, my phone never rang???
I rang surgery and the lady said she would put me through. I get through BUT it goes straight to messaging so no dr/practitioner help. I give up!!!!

Blood pressure and sample for test

My appointment was on time and checks at door on entry to surgery was very good, I saw the nurse who checked blood pressure and took blood sample, she was very attentive and put me at ease answering my questions about my treatment.

Arrived at Paulsgrove surgery ahead of B12 appointment. No other patient present in the waiting room. HCSW indicated that it had been "very busy". When I left it was still empty and no sign of any further patients at that time.

Prompt and friendly service

Having navigated through the phone switchboard!
I was contacted by a Doctor who after a short conversation asked me to attend the surgery a short while later. On arrival the reception staf were polite and friendly, advising me where to sit was and wait .
I saw the Doctor in due course, and with an opinion from a 2nd GP a diagnosis was made. In these difficult times of Coronavirus, the service was very good.

Very quick service

On arrival was advised of social distance regulation, was advised of the sanitizing station and had to wear a face mask, very quick service easy in and out before my appointment, very professional nurse, taking blood and very friendly. Thank you for the early appointment due to work.

Recent appointment

I am very disappointed with the surgery. My husband suffered a cardiac arrest in December 18th and was in hospital till middle if Jan. He as had no follow up call from any of the Docs there, he also constantly as trouble with getting his prescription on time. He gives 1 weeks notice for meds when you ask for 72hrs, he bever gets them on time and they are essential medication. I understand we are going through a pandemic now but he had been out of hospital a few weeks before lockdown and one of the Docs could have phoned to check on him.

Recent appointment

I had to wait nearly 5 weeks to make an appointment, also some of the receptionist can be so rude & intimidating. I have put a number of complaints in over the last couple of years, with no reply. Also my husband had a blood test recently, 10 days later he still had not heard nothing. So he phoned them up& asked the receptionist why they hadn't been in contact with his blood test results. They replied we don't know, we has a family have been registered with cosham park avenue for 30 years when they used to have their practice over the health center. They used to be a very caring practice, what has happened.? A number of people have said the same that I have spoke to over the years, where as the caring gone & the respect.? I am happy for this to be published online.
