Have only attended this surgery twice ( usually use Cosham). Seen promptly by polite and amiable Staff, as I was on my previous visit. This Practice has the added advantage of on-site parking.

I have attended Crookhorn Lane Surgery twice, once in April and then in May, each time the process was easy and straight forward, on entry requested to use sanitiser before using the screen for attendance and again after using, seating was ideal for social distancing whilst in waiting area. The nurses explained what they were doing, on the second appointment I had a trainee who was Being monitored By an experienced nurse, the trainee was excellent and confident.

Not Covid Compliant!

This is a review for Somerstown Surgery

I visited about 4-5 weeks after lockdown. When I arrived there were several people hanging around the entrance, so I went outside. For each patient the receptionist had to leave her desk, ask if the person had any symptoms, then escort them inside. This didn't take long, but clearly she was very stressed.

When I got inside all the chairs were arranged next to each other in long rows, so those waiting had to guess where to sit to keep apart, then reshuffle when someone new turned up. I couldn't believe how disorganised the place was.

At this point even the smallest corner shops had systems for controlling numbers and spacing - I'd expect the surgery to be well ahead. It looked like it had just opened. Even if it had, why were there no plans in place? I walked by a few days later and noticed at least the chairs had been spaced out, but no markings on the floor.

I couldn't fault the staff for their helpfulness and friendliness.

I see a nurse every week and have always received outstanding service from all staff. The receptionists are all very helpful and in the situation we are in handled everything really well as do the nurses, I can’t praise them enough, just to say a huge thank you.

REGULAR TREATMENT

This is a review for Paulsgrove Surgery

The appointment was for my scheduled B12 injection. Unfortunately it was over 3 weeks late due to issues regarding the telephone system for bookings and the suspension of Online appointments facility for account holders.

Appointment booked and confirmed via eConsult facility.

Appointment was at Paulsgrove which is so close to me given that the B12 injection takes less than 1 minute.

Prompt and efficient HCA wearing appropriate PPE.

Thank you for your feedback. We have invested significantly in our telephone system, which attempts to match capacity with patient demand at all times. There are times of day, however, which are busier than others and, during these times, it will be more difficult to get through. We do constantly monitor the situation and, if indicated, make further investment in our communications infrastructure.

Annual routine blood test and repeat requested by GP

This is a review for Crookhorn Surgery

First visit, all social distancing measures appeared to be in place and clearly explained , quickly seen. However we were concerned the phlebotomist, I think a nurse in navy blue was not wearing a mask. I mentioned this when I made the next appointment and the phlebotomist was wearing a mask at the next appointment, more reassuring. Pre arranged diabetic phone call on time and I was given plenty of time and grateful.

When it works, it works

Nurse rang to check email details. Picked up I was mentally not good. Arranged for Dr to call. Unable to do anything for me due to lockdown but suggested contacting Positive Minds - which I did. Practice brilliant when it works BUT had I tried to contact the surgery because of my fragile mental health, I would have not got an appointment.

Very helpful, not sure of the name of the lady who dealt with my query but she was knowledgeable, courteous and understood why I could not do this on line. She was also very helpful regarding the result of my most recent blood test ( Prostate cancer monitoring). The test was carried out some 4 weeks previously but the result had not been communicated to me. It would seem that the common practice is not to inform the patient if the result is such that " no further action is required". No news is good news perhaps but she understood my concerns. Peace of mind is very important to the patient and for the sake of a text or email to me my worries would have been dispersed.
