Didn't expect the speedy service I received!

This is a review for Crookhorn Surgery

I knew I needed antibiotics as suffered with similar problems since childhood. Phoned on the 'dot' of 08:00 and as usual, but always the same message, lines are busy etc, when I did finally get into a queue I asked for a Telcon with Doctor. Was called back within 30 minutes and had an appointment that morning and got the meds I needed. Previous experiences have not always gone as well.

Health Check

This is a review for Kingston Crescent Surgery

Had a health check and was just wondering if I was overweight. Had my height and weight measured compared to my age and it was confirmed that I was overweight. The health checker suggested that I need to lose 1.5 stone in about 5 years but she said that I don't have to rush the weight lose but please try to do it. So I said to her that I will try to lose the weight. Compared to my height and age and weight I should weigh 11 stone but I do weigh 12.5 stone.

Prescription requests take too long, I've had to wait over a week despite chasing. Receptionist give me wrong information about prescription being signed by Dr. No routine appointments available online, need more receptionist on general appointment line.

Emergency Monday Appointment

This is a review for Crookhorn Surgery

I called up to see a doctor 5 days after going to the walk in centre at St Marys. At St Marys I was told I had pharangytis and didn't need antibiotics, but after 5 days it was very apparent that I did need them. I went in to see the nurse practitioner. She was very helpful and understanding and took time to listen to me. She gave me the antibiotics and signed me off for the rest of the week.

Helpful and on time

This is a review for Cosham Park House Surgery

I was asked to attend a diabetic nurse appointment. It was on time and thorough.
A new medication was suggested and prescribed at the appointment, sent directly to the pharmacy for collection a couple of days later.
This was very convenient for me.

This is a review for Crookhorn Surgery

Apart from the telephone booking system, which is terrible, 23rd in the queue and 30 minutes later 11th. The figures used are averages and they should be assessed in real time! Getting through to Crookhorn reception is just as bad as waiting in the queue for an appointment, please return so our calls can be directed by pressing ‘2’. Having said that, you cannot fault the Reception staff, nurses and Doctors they are first class. Special mention of my Diabetes Nurse Nikki Woolhead, for her knowledge, positivity and care.

Thanks to Laura who noticed I'd not had a blood test for a while and booked for the next day. Due to this it was picked up I had a severe infection and I was in hospital within 2 days.

I called for an appointment re a suspected infection, I was called back within an hour by a doctor and given an appointment within two hours of that call. With such a busy surgery I was very impressed to get an appointment so quickly at such a busy surgery, all well now thank you.
