Nice surgery

Nice spacious surgery so you don’t feel like your sitting on top of each other. Reception were great too as I basically passed out in the chemist after my visit while waiting for my meds, they gave me a cup of water to help the problem.

Stitches & vaccination.

This is a review for Kingston Crescent Surgery

I had booked an appointment with the nurse to have 9 stitches removed after having a BCC removed from my face. I always attend appointments early, just in case any other patients have not turned up, or are late! After booking myself in, I asked the lady on reception if I could have a shingles vaccination. A GP previously phoned me with some results and after asking about the shingles vaccination, she said I was entitled and to pop in any time. Reception said if I sat on the seat through the double doors a doctor would call me in. About ten minutes later the doctor called me in and gave me the vaccination, all quite painless. [I have had the misfortune to have shingles on more than one occasion, not so much a massive rash, but very deep pains]. I no sooner left his room than the nurse was calling me in. After painless removal of stitches I was on my way back home.

Review of S.T.H.C Surgery

This is a review for Somerstown Surgery

I was at first disappointed that the booking in computer was out of action as it took a while for a receptionist to appear. An elderly gentleman had already ignored and overtaken me therefore appearing to be next in the queue...not the fault of the surgery but irritating.
When the receptionist appeared she was very friendly and pleasant but I needed to explain a couple of times that I was asked to give a specimen of urine before seeing anyone.

Non urgent appointment

This is a review for Crookhorn Surgery

The gp and service once I managed to get an appointment was very good. However, the telephone system is terrible. It took me 3 phone calls over 2 days to get absolutely no where after patiently waiting from 16th in the queue at one point.!!!! I was eventually advised to go on line at 7pm as a few routine appointments would be released. I set my alarm for 6.55pm and managed to get an appointment.

There are times of day, however, which are busier than others and, during these times, it will be more difficult to get through. We do constantly monitor the situation and, if indicated, make further investment in our communications infrastructure.

Early appointment

This is a review for Heyward Road Surgery & Practice

It was very useful being able to have an early appointment 7am then straight off to work. The receptionist was very jolly and friendly. The time spent with the chemist was very helpful enabling me to understand the effects of the drugs I'm having to take and giving me every confidence in hi very professional diagnosis. Thank-you very much for the care that I have received.

Had to take morning off work to phone, phone queue starts at 8am, 23 in queue . Once through have to wait to a nurse or doctor to phone back.. desperately need to provide routine appointments so working people can pre book appointments.

Kind and friendly nursing staff

I came in to surgery for a blood pressure check and routine blood test. Louise and her colleague (who was retiring that day) were professional and put my mind at rest when my blood pressure reading was normal, after using the Pod which produced a very high, inaccurate reading which caused me concern. They stressed that they often had to carry out repeat BP checks following use of the Pod. In my opinion this should be removed as it causes undue concern to patients. I check my BP at home about once a month so knew the Pod result was way too high.

This is a review for Crookhorn Surgery

When you can get through the service is excellent. Staff are friendly and helpful and GPs are good. Online referring is excellent and a GP or nurse gets back within 24 hours. Saves a trip to the surgery. Triage also good.
Only criticism is being able to get through as phone lines always busy and can’t wait when I am 15 in the queue as working.
