Crookhorn surgery has always been great. Each time I have needed an appointment I have called and been put on a triage list and seen that morning.

Recent appointment with Doctor

This is a review for Crookhorn Surgery

My appointment was with a trainee doctor from QA Hospital and she went through everything carefully, inputting on computer as she went along. She asked a lot of questions and at the end another Doctor, her boss, came into the surgery. She went through everything that had been discussed with the Doctor and they made a decision together on my treatment. It was extremely heartening to hear what went on and I have to say I was really happy with the outcome.

Making an Appointment is so frustrating and annoying.

After waiting what seemed like a very long time, I was 14 in the queue, started to speak to someone and then she hung up! Terrible attitude. I hate this system, if your feeling unwell this is the last thing you want.

Thank you for your feedback. We have invested significantly in our telephone system, which attempts to match capacity with patient demand at all times. There are times of day, however, which are busier than others and, during these times, it will be more difficult to get through. We do constantly monitor the situation and, if indicated, make further investment in our communications infrastructure.

The Doctor was so sympathetic

She listened to how I felt and was really comforting when I was crying, she contacted the hospital and true to her word she phoned me at home with the results and a new medication.

Emergency appointments

I had a telephone consultation with a doctor and then came in to be examined by a paramedic. I do usually struggle to get appointments but this time was easier I hope that carries on.

Back Pain consultation

This is a review for Kingston Crescent Surgery

Took some time to get through after 0800, nearly 0900 before call answered. Good triage and the physio phoned back after about 2 hrs, he gave me some tips on self help and pain relief and sent me an email with more details etc.
You can register for a physio appointment and then 4 DAYS later phone for an appointment this is very poor.

Doctor was awkward and made me feel very uncomfortable. He also didn’t seem to know what he was talking about. I also had to wait 20 minutes after being told I was late when I was actually waiting in reception for 10 minutes

Thank you for your feedback. With the ever-increasing demands on our services, it is simply not possible or, indeed, appropriate for all our patients to see a GP, particularly for urgent problems. All of our Nurse Practitioners and Paramedic Practitioners are fully clinically trained and supported by an on-site duty doctor if they need any assistance whatsoever.

Been with the surgery for about 18 months and they’ve always been great. They’re helpful and I can get an appointment: this may not require me seeing the dr (we have walk-in centres for urgent physicality’s) and yet both receptionists and drs are able to help over the phone. Thank you
