Unfortunately, we cannot always guarantee which GP you will see. This also means that we can offer more appointments, although you can contact us and ask if there is availability to be able to see a certain GP, it cannot be guaranteed. To add, all GP's can see the same medical records on the system.

Women’s health nurse

Lindsay is extremely helpful and empathetic. Her advice is invaluable. Unfortunately it’s very difficult to make an appointment with her. Would be much more time effective to be able to email or have a telephone conversation rather than wait three weeks for face to face.

We understand that a different way of contacting would be easier, however, managing a clinic in this way would become admin heavy and we do not have the capacity for this. Some appointments are done via telephone, there may have been a specific reason why a face-to-face was thought to be more appropriate. We will share this with our team and make changes going forward where possible.

First time attending

This is a review for Somerstown Surgery

I recently attended Somerstown Surgery to have blood tests. I had not been there before and even went to the wrong place first, before having to sprint round to the correct place to be on time still. The surgery was a good size, clean and neat. The staff were friendly and polite. I look forward to attending again soon for a check up. Excellent surgery.

I recently attended Kingston Crescent surgery to see a doctor about a recurring sickness.
I filled out the form online and within an hour I had a call giving me an appointment time that same morning. I was very pleased with the staff, the doctor was excellent and the reception staff were friendly and polite.

Blood test

This is a review for Cosham Park House Surgery

I arrived at the surgery in time for my appointment and waited only a few minutes before a nurse called me. She was friendly and helpful. The zip on my jacket got stuck and she helped me to get it off over my head. She then did the blood test as gently as she could and I left feeling perfectly happy with the way I had been treated.

This is a review for Kingston Crescent Surgery

My appointment was cancelled on the day it was due. A link was given to book a new appointment but these were 2 weeks away and no good as my B12 would be 2 weeks overdue by then. I rang and was offered an appointment this same day at 3.50 and accepted after the the lady checked she could book me in. So I left work 2 hours early to get there. Upon arrival I was told they had no idea why I was booked in at this time as there was no one available to give the injection. So I had wasted my time travelling down and now had to make up 2 hours at work and work later all week all for nothing. The last at reception booked me in a couple of days later so I had to come down again and take a longer lunch to accommodate it and make up more lost time at work.

Than you for your feedback. We are sorry that you found it difficult to hear the doctor. Our staff would not be offended if they are asked to repeat or speak more slowly, or even confirm in writing after a consultation, but you would need to indicate that you couldn't hear for their awareness.

Phoning

I personally do not like having to use the internet to make an appt. Even filling in your form it still does not cover everything you wish to say. I said I had bad headache etc and a stiff neck. (I am 72) and was told to hang up and dial 999. I knew I didn't have meningitis, so removed the stiff neck.

Thank you for your comments. As with any change it will not always be to everyone liking, however, on the whole the feedback we are receiving has been positive to the change. Change has been necessary and this does allow for much more equitable access to the Practice. The decision with regards to what you submit is entirely with the patient.

Doctors appointment!

I found it extremely difficult to understand the doctor I saw. I did not even get his name. The antibiotics worked but got no feed back on my choice to give up taking Alendronic acid due to side effects.

Thank you for your feedback. It is important that if you do not understand a clinician, for whatever reason that you say so during the consultation. This would give the clinician a chance to resolve this issue. It is too late after the fact. I would suggest that should you still have outstanding queries or concerns that you submit a further Anima.
