How can I get an appointment?

This is a review for Cosham Park House Surgery

I am an 84 year old, fairly active lady. However, every time I phone for an appointment I am told there are no appointments available and need to ring back at either 2pm or 8am the following day. I do not 'bother' the doctors for minor problems, but there have been several occasions both in the past 5 years and more recently, when I have needed an appointment urgently and have been unable to get one. This causes me great distress and compounds an already problematic situation. When I eventually get an appointment, the care and assistance are second to none. Thank you.

Was seen promptly

This is a review for Cosham Park House Surgery

I called in for the anti-flu vaccination without appointment following text invitation to do so. Was seen promptly and was also given an anti-tetanus and diphtheria vaccination as my protection was out of date. Was impressed with how easy the whole procedure was from text to getting the treatment.

The number of times I called the out of hours number was over 15 before finally connecting. I started at 8am and didn't get connected to the queue until 8:30am. As a result I had to take a day sick from work.

Thank you for your feedback. We have invested significantly in our telephone system, which attempts to match capacity with patient demand at all times. There are times of day, however, which are busier than others and, during these times, it will be more difficult to get through. We do constantly monitor the situation and, if indicated, make further investment in our communications infrastructure.

Trying to get appointment.

I had six weeks holiday and during that time I tried and tried to get an appointment. Eventually I spoke to a Doctor on the phone, he suggested I need to get an appointment for Physio. When I rang to get this appointment, I was number 27 in line. I held on until I spoke to someone, I was then told that as it was gone 11am I had missed the dead line and would have to try again the following day. I said when I first picked up the phone it was long before 11am but because of being no. 27 I had to hang on until I got to number 1. The phone went dead on me! How rude.

My appointment was on time and the doctor was pleasant and listened to my concerns. I cannot say everything was satisfactory as I am awaiting a Hospital appointment and won't know the outcome until such time as I have had said appointment, I also had my Flu shot at this time.
