The GP who saw me was not interested with the combination of symptoms I have. He just focused on my back pain and said it’s muscoloskeletal pain. Even though my finger/knuckles are painful and my lymph nodes swollen.

Travel injections

4 out of 5 stars

This is a review for Kingston Crescent Surgery

workingfeedback logo
Booked for travel injections, arrived at the surgery and booked myself in automatically. I sat in the main reception for half an hour after my allocated time. If it wasn’t for another person who was speaking to the receptionist, I would not have known that I needed to go to another part of the surgery.
The nurse was helpful and offered advice regarding the country I was travelling to.

I recently joined you're surgery and tried to get to speak with a doctor about medication I am already taking but could find no doctors appt online and when I went into the surgery I was just told there is no doctors spots available and the best I could get was to speak to a pharmacist this is not suitable. What am i to do??

Thank you for your feedback. With the ever-increasing demands on our services, it is simply not possible or, indeed, appropriate for all our patients to see a GP, particularly for urgent problems. All of our Nurse Practitioners and Paramedic Practitioners are fully clinically trained and supported by an on-site duty doctor if they need any assistance whatsoever.

The nurse who treated me today was great and the star ratings I have provided below have not been awarded in relation to her but are given to reflect the appalling administration and reception performances of Cosham Park House Practice. I honestly believe I would be better served if I undertook full medical training and qualified as a GP myself in order to get a quicker and clearer diagnosis of my health issues than endure the current 'system' of incredulous chaos that is currently served up at this practice.
It seems that the only chance I have of getting a full and thorough medical diagnosis is after the coroner has performed an autopsy on me

This appointment, although c40 minutes late, was a positive experience largely due to the professional and caring approach of the GP I saw. Previous experience (28/09/19) where I waited 1 hour 29 minutes on hold, trying to arrange an urgent appointment, on the telephone only to be cut off once I was put through to the surgery was an extremely disappointing experience

Thank you for your feedback. We have invested significantly in our telephone system, which attempts to match capacity with patient demand.at all times. There are times of day, however, which are busier than others and, during these times, it will be more difficult to get through. We do constantly monitor the situation and, if indicated, make further investment in our communications infrastructure.

Absolutely appalling service. Ever since they took over Northern Rd Surgery, lucky if you manage to get to see a doctor, in fact it's easier getting to see a consultant at hospital than to see a GP. Online appointment system might as well not be there. Can never get prescriptions right or on time. Have to travel to other surgeries in group to get urgent ECGs done. All in all total joke of a service.

An exemplary patient service

5 out of 5 stars

This is a review for Kingston Crescent Surgery

workingfeedback logo
To coincide with my specific working pattern I was provided with the earliest appointment time, which was brilliant.
New Prescription changed to increase dosage to 2 puffs am and pm with New Spacer to ensure I get the full benefit of medication to my lungs, to improve my asthma control. BP and weight checked. Was able to receive the new 'TIV Flu Vaccine' as I now come into the relevant age group. So all in all a very good experience - with a promise from the Nurse to give me a follow up telephone call in 3 weeks, to see what impact the new preventer inhaler dosage is having, on helping with my disturbed sleep coughing, via my direct line at work.
An exemplary patient service.

Blood Pressure health check

4 out of 5 stars

This is a review for Cosham Park House Surgery

workingfeedback logo
My first reading was extremely high. Mandie called me in for the following week. Slightly lower but Mandie suggested I had a 24 hour BP monitor fitted. I missed the first appointment as I was unaware(!), three further appointments made but all were cancelled by the practice as machines faulty and no longer fit for purpose as data out of date. With my own machine I recorded daily and to Mandie's surprise BP recordings surprisingly good! I have agreed with Mandie that when eventually the machine is available then I revisit for the 24 hour monitoring.
Surely such an important piece of equipment should have closer scrutiny to ensure it is fully functioning and up to date with regard to current data! Obviously this has effected not just me but many patients in the surgery.

Quick, efficient triage service

4 out of 5 stars

This is a review for Kingston Crescent Surgery

Quick efficient triage service: I was called back by Dr within half an hour, then an appointment given early that morning with nurse practitioner who was thorough, ordered investigations and an appointment for a blood test later that same day. Didn’t feel rushed in my appointment and felt listened to, leaving with a clear management plan that I can follow up.

Doctor patient relationship lost

3 out of 5 stars

This is a review for Cosham Park House Surgery

workingfeedback logo
The surgery is like so many these days, you wait for an unacceptable time for an appointment, even getting answered on the phone is just to long. More staff required early morning to take these calls.
Some of the receptionist think they run the surgery and have a habit if making you feel bad when asking for a emergency appointment.
I don't want to discuss what is wrong with me to a receptionist it can be embarrassing.
It's a case of the doctor has no idea, what you have gone through to get to see them.
That doctor patient relationship has been lost such a shame.
