It took a little time to get through on phone but managed to get appt for both times I rang. Not happy that one of the receptionist team was tearing a strip off a patient in public for not checking her medication before she left the pharmacy. I could understand why the staff were so annoyed with her. Apparently they'd had the same conversation before but I didn't like the way she was spoken to and in public was not only embarrassing for the patient but uncomfortable for us in the waiting area.

They do, however, work in what can, at times, be a stressful environment and have to endure unacceptable levels of abuse. Urgent Appointment

This is a review for Cosham Park House Surgery

I popped into the surgery at 7.55 am to ask yo be put on the triage list for that morning. Within 5 minutes Dr Ozzard phoned me and gave me a 9am appointment with Tina the nurse. She was lovely and very thorough and dealt with my problem accordingly.

Injection and pill

This is a review for Somerstown Surgery

I had to go in for a booster jab, I was sent a text saying to come in anytime and I’m glad I called before hand because I was told I could come that morning but the doctor wouldn’t be there in the afternoon, I think maybe the text should say this. Also, I came in to get my pill and I believe I should be seen properly every now and then, I do actually have low blood pressure so always am given new prescriptions with no question but it’s always better to be on the safe side.

Terrible surgery

This is a review for Cosham Park House Surgery

You can never get an appointment to see a doctor unless your as good as dying, dish out antibiotics like they are sweets, leave you on hold to speak to receptionist, when they answer they tell you to hold to cut you off so you have to go through the whole process again which takes even longer to be told your problem isn't urgent even with a letter from the hospital, who are they to say its not urgent, if it was on the other foot I bet they'd change their attitudes, there is only a handful of good doctors and nurses at this surgery. If I could give no stars I would.

Thank you for your feedback. We have invested significantly in our telephone system, which attempts to match capacity with patient demand.at all times. There are times of day, however, which are busier than others and, during these times, it will be more difficult to get through. We do constantly monitor the situation and, if indicated, make further investment in our communications infrastructure. We are constantly reviewing the service which we deliver and will be launching a new Model of Care in the Autumn. This has been designed to provide an increased availability and length (15 minutes) of routine appointments.

Advice on my frequency of bladder problem

This is a review for Crookhorn Surgery

Originally had a telecon discussion with Dr Gaston 15/7 about my concern I had a urine infection
Gave blood and urine samples 16/7
Initially had a telephone discussion with Dr Mannings & then an appointment 30/7
At the appointment had a discussion on my frequency of passing water, had a prostrate examination advised to start a programme of Tamsulosine 30/7
This seemed a long time tone seen for what I thought was originally an infection.

Repeat prescriptions happen by accident

This is a review for Cosham Park House Surgery

The overall care provided by this practice is good; however, there is a major flaw in how repeat prescriptions are handled. Many times, orders have been placed only to find out that the reception department has not submitted them to be signed; the local chemists are aware of this, but nothing seems to be done. Aside from the experience of both my parents failing to get their medications, I have witnessed other patients in the chemists being told that their prescription has not been processed.

Recent Appointment

My blood pressure was still a little high, so the doctor recommended that I take Ramipril 2.5 mg. and gave me a prescription for the chemist. When I collected the capsules the chemist said to take one 5 minutes before bed as they are very strong and have side effects. I took one capsule, and 3 hours later I was in the toilet with stomach pains which lasted for a couple of hours, them I had burning sensations in my lower limbs and bad headaches. Suffice to say I have not taken any more of those capsules and gone back on my normal tablets.

Pleasant and polite service with a smile

I had been doing some gardening cutting and clearing bushes and received a bite/scratches and as a result a little stiffness in my arm, the doctor said there was nothing serious but I was overdue a tetanus so this was corrected. The surgery was very helpful, pleasant and polite service with a smile. I am very pleased having changed to this practice.
