Blood Test

This is a review for Crookhorn Surgery

Made appointment for repeat blood test for thyroid function as a result of a previous blood test which had recommended a repeat test in 3 months. However, on the front of the results it said 'no further action' so I made the appointment myself and was told I didn't need a form. When it came to the appointment the nurse had no idea what I was there for. Blood test completed ok but usual story of non communication - not the first time. I don't feel that I am kept informed about results, hospital appointments etc. It's always down to me to chase things up.

Good and Bad

This is a review for Crookhorn Surgery

Very frustrating trying to get through on phone. I started at 5th in the queue, when I eventually got to 2nd I was cut off. Then every time I tried to get through the line was engaged, took 45 minutes of redialling to get through. That is the bad.
When I got through I was phoned back very quickly, given an appointment for that morning, had no trouble parking and went in on time. So that is good.

Thank you for your feedback. We have invested significantly in our telephone system, which attempts to match capacity with patient demand.at all times. There are times of day, however, which are busier than others and, during these times, it will be more difficult to get through. We do constantly monitor the situation and, if indicated, make further investment in our communications infrastructure.

Very good service

This is a review for Cosham Park House Surgery

I phoned the Portsdown Group Practice at 14.10 and waited about 10 minutes, explained my problem to the receptionist who was very helpful and polite. The Doctor called me back within 20 minutes and arranged an appointment for 16.10 so from my first call to surgery and seeing a medical technician was two hours, very good service, well pleased.

I would like to thank practice nurse, spotted possible dvt, which as I was an ex- staff nurse suspected, prescribed immediately apixaban, leg swollen into 3cm all up, told go straight hospital if worsens, overnight increased pain swelling, I had marked leg, straight to a and e, confirmed by emergency ambulatory clinic by doppler, confirmed dvt. Very impressed with care at doctors, thank you to all your practice nurse and bloods team.

Emergency appointment with GP

This is a review for Crookhorn Surgery

Quick and efficient same day appointment with GP who immediately and reassuringly put me at ease and resolved my concern. Then having my details on screen picked up I was due a tetanus shot (unconnected to my visit) so I was able to receive it at same appointment, more efficiency, a good outcome.

Went there to collect a prescription. Everything went smoothly, very polite and efficient reception staff. Was told I needed top up injections. I didn't have to wait long until Dr Gohill appeared and did the necessary. Very impressed with service.
