I have to repeat myself constantly every time I go there for a new appointment. I dont feel like I have got anywhere since going to the practice. I got told I need a referral to a hospital for an operation and now nothing can be done?

Trying to get an appointment

This is a review for Cosham Park House Surgery

Trying to get an appointment is almost impossible and the phone system is terrible. Appointment was okay but it would be nice to see a Dr who knows your case details.

Thank you for your comments. We do, of course, recognise the clinical benefits of providing continuity of care to our patients and, wherever possible, we do provide this. However, due to the well-publicised increasing demand on Primary Care, this is regrettably not always possible. All of our clinicians have access to full patientt clinical records which ensures that they can make properly informed decisions regarding a patient's care.

Excellent Service

This is a review for Cosham Park House Surgery

On a previous visit I was advised my tetanus was out of date, I was given a jab there and then and asked to return in 4 weeks for the follow up jab. I was advised I did not need to book, but simply turn up - I popped in after work on Monday and asked if anyone was available, the receptionist checked and said yes and to take a seat. I was literally called within about 2 minutes by a lovely doctor who administered the follow up jab and I was on my way! I was probably in the surgery for a total of 10 minutes! Excellent service!

As I was there I thought I would also get my MMR booster jab as I was previously told that I can drop in anytime during opening hours and get the jab and no appointment was required. The initial appointment went smoothly and there were no issues. I then asked the reception lady for the MMR jab and she told me to wait outside the Duty Doctors room. I waited 45 min - 1 hour before a nurse took me to another room and finally gave me the booster. Clearly the surgery was short staffed that particular day but not impressed. Fortunately I dont visit the Doctors that frequently but I did miss my previous surgery on Queens Road. The staff and Doctors at my previous surgery were absolutely fantastic with me and my family. From my recent visits the majority of the reception staff appear unhappy talking to patients. It can come across as rude and patronising. All I can say is if you are not happy talking to people then find alternative employment.

Thank you for your feedback. We are sorry that you waited for "1 hour" for your vaccination. We offer a walk-in service for vaccinations in order to best meet the needs of our patients. There can, however, sometimes be a delay depending on the clinical demand on any given day.

All was handled very efficiently

I received a text from the Surgery indicating that an urgent blood test had been requested by Dr. Monnery. I rang the surgery and was immediately offered an appointment in the afternoon on the same day. I was seen by the nurse, blood test done. So on this occasion, all was handled very efficiently.

I was impressed with the quick response and treatment I received but the wrong appointment time and then being asked why I had missed said appointment was not very professional, as a project manager I pride my self with managing time and people so to be accused of missing an appointment due to poor time keep and not being given the wrong time over the phone was not very well received
