Professional, dedicated and patient
This is a review for Cosham Park House Surgery
On this occasion, l booked myself in. As instructed l used the POD for my blood pressure etc readings. Unfortunately there was a little typed note stating the printer was not working and to manually record my results. Sad to say l didn’t have a pen to hand, nor was one available. Notwithstanding this, when l met Doctor Tijuana Stubbs l found her to be utterly professional, dedicated and patient well being her ultimate goal. Dr Stubbs reflected everything positive about this Surgery. All my needs were met, and l left the surgery with no unanswered questions.

This is a review for Cosham Park House Surgery
After a few days, I think on Tuesday 11 June< I experienced sufficient burning pain on my face that I was unable to get any sleep, and sought advice from Portsdown Group Practice Surgery, as there was no back up from the clinic itself. I entered the triage system and gave my symptoms, which including feeling unwell (shivering and nausea). I was telephoned by a lady from The pharmacy who advised me to take paracetamol for the pain, which I did. I was also subsequently rang by Dr Lang, who advised me either to reduce the dosage, but increase the period of application, or to apply cold flannels. As I certainly did not wish to extend the period, I applied cold flannels, which did alleviate the pain in the short term. However the pain incrementally increased with each twice daily application, and bu half way through the 3 week period, on 18 June, I was sufficiently distressed to try and contact Dr Gohil for his advice. I was again told to seek an emergency appointment through the triage system, and found out by chance that Dr Gohil happened to be one off the triage doctors on duty that day. I gave my symptoms to the lady who took the call, and asked her please to get Dr Gohil to ring me. Which he did almost immediately and invited me to see him at 4.30pm that afternoon. I was in so much distress that I could have cried with happiness at being able to see him.
When I saw him he said I had suffered a severe reaction to the treatment, which he suggested should have been applied twice daily only for two days each week, and also that my whole face was infected. He prescribed penicillin and hydrocortisone cream, which I applied for two weeks and I am now I think fully recovered. Dr Gohil has promised to ring me tomorrow, 2 June.
My views on this painful and somewhat frightening experience are that: (1) I have no great trust in the Dermatology Treatment Centre; (2) The triage system did not work in my case, given that it was a situation where a visible inspection was required; and (3) Dr Gohil is, as I knew beforehand, a brilliant and kind doctor.

This is a review for Cosham Park House Surgery
I couldn't get through to the phone line so instead I walked to the surgery and asked to be put on the triage list. About two hours later I received a phone call from the GP going through my symptoms and booked an appointment for the following week to see her and investigate further.
On the day of the appointment I did have to wait almost an hour to be seen but honestly, I am just grateful to have been able to see someone and count myself lucky that I could get an appointment a week after the triage call.
Besides the waiting times which are inevitable and out of the clinicians control, the system of phoning in isn't the most convenient especially for someone who works 9-5. I was lucky that it was my day off and I could physically go to the surgery and talk to the receptionist.
The appointment with the GP, Dr Helen Gasden, was good, she was very professional and attentive and referred me to the appropriate specialist departments.
The reception team were polite and efficient and the waiting rooms had plentiful information and signposting.
I hadn't realised about the online service to send information about a one's symptoms and later be able to receive further contact by a GP until I was in the waiting room and saw the big poster there.
The systmonline method of booking appointments is redundant, as there are almost never any appointments available within the limited 2 week window that's offered. It is useful to see past test results and GP information however the website design and interaction could be improved to be more intuitive.

On this occasion I was dealt with very quickly on the phone and was passed to the duty triage for call back. Called back really quickly and was concerned so offered an appointment that morning. Surgery busy but got seen and treated without any problems by an understanding paramedic practitioner. Very kind and helpful.
Feedback for one week previous for another condition again was faltering with very quickly and professionally by triage and doctor on the day.
On these two everything was how it should be.
