On the few occasions that I have visited Paulsgrove surgery there was always a smile
from the receptionist and always very helpful. the doctors that I saw did not rush you and explained everything to you

Frustrated with check in procedure. I queued for 10 mins to be told I had to check in via the machine, (I was attending for an emergency apt so this was not my usual gp surgery). The machine didn't recognise me, so had to queue again to find out what waiting area I needed to go to. There was only one receptionist on (with 2 in the corner behind a screen chatting ) The receptionist was with a patient helping them fill out a form, which was taking a while, and it was only when the queue was going down the stairs that she asked her colleagues for help.
Whilst the additional receptionist was helpful I did find it unprofessional that she called me 'lovey' and 'my love'.

We are sorry that the service we provided was not to your expectations the self-check-in service is available to all patients this leaves the reception staff available to help with more complex queries, however, they are always available to assist with your first time at checking in, which are all the same across our sites. We are sorry that you found the use of ‘lovey ‘and ‘my love’ unprofessional, our staff are trained to be approachable and friendly are we apologise if this was felt to be inappropriate by you.

Recent Appointment

The main difficulty is contacting the GP surgery and getting an appointment, which can be distressing. My husband died on 6th April and I wanted to talk to his Dr, Dr Kyd, about him. The receptionist did not think this possible but I said tell Dr Kyd and, being the wonderful GP that she is, she phoned me back and arranged an appointment for me to see her. I have the highest praise for her. She is efficient yet kind and supportive.

Thank you for your feedback, when a request for a call back from a specific doctor is requested, the receptionist will not guarantee a call back, it is the clinicians choice as to whether they can and have the availability to contact a patient directly, we feel it is important not to raise hopes when a definitive answer cannot be given.

Very easy and convenient

The appointment was simply to get an tetanus injection to keep my protection up to date. I was able to do this with a walk-in appointment, so it was very easy and convenient.

Telephone consultation

This is a review for Cosham Park House Surgery

Once I spoke to a doctor I was happy with the service and this is usually the case. However it is very difficult to get your query answered via the phone system, the website and online prescription service and also in person at reception . Sometimes messages / letters have not been actioned and then the only way to get something done is to go in a queue to speak to a doctor or make an appointment. Also there is no continuity and I have had an ongoing problem that still is being investigated and I have seen about 5 different doctors. I wonder if feedback is given to doctors once they have seen a patient as to what the final outcome is so they can learn from that?

It is well publicised that access and appointments for Primary Care is going through exceptionally difficult times. We are constantly monitoring, our staff levels and limited resources, to offer the maximum number of appointments that we can. With regards to continuity of care, it is your choice as a patient whether you want to delay being seen to ensure you are seen by the same doctor, we would like to assure you that all of our clinicians ensure detailed notes are available after each consultation to ensure any clinician can continue with your care. Clinicians do have discussions between them where required and relevant once clinical outcomes have been reached.

I was invited for a shingles injection, and whilst there was advised I also needed another booster, both of which were very much appreciated. I also had an opportunity for an informal chat/update about a problem with what is believed to be a Bakers cyst behind my knee, which I found very re-assuring at the time.

I have been a patient with CPH surgery for 2years. When I see a Doctor the experience was good. My concern is that I rarely see a Doctor, its normally a Nurse Practitioner, which is fine in some instants, but most people want to see a Doctor. In my opinion the appointment system is a joke. I do understand the problems facing GP Surgeries, more people less Doctors, our national mind set about our NHS has got to change. Emotional banners with 'Save Our NHS' on wont cut it.

It took me 4 days ringing up at 8am then try again at 2 onwards for a ring back from a Doctor, then to top the lot I waited over 2 hours to get my medication, then got home an I have some medication missing out my nomad.
