I was seen by Dr Ahmed, who could barely understand me and I could not understand him. The blood test was fine, but when I tried to ask questions, I was ignored and he spent his time at the keyboard typing. Finally I was told everything was because I had IBS and sent an information sheet, not helpful

The receptionists were extremely indifferent and uncaring. I went and they said they would do it on the screen, so I wrote my first letter instead of my last name. I waited 30 minutes, but no one called me. Then I went to the reception desk, waited a few minutes, and two women were chatting amongst themselves, and finally, one of them paid attention to me. The woman with glasses, who I had worn when I first went, was still indifferent. If you don't want to deal with people, then don't be there.

Blood test

This is a review for Heyward Road Surgery & Practice

I ordered a blood test to include PSA. The message never got through and the HCA expected me to have a blood form. This was a visit created by closure of Kingston Crescent Surgery. Reception were great. Waiting room very small due to small surgery

Thank you for your comments. Blood tests are usually instigated by a clinician who would ensure the relevant blood form is raised indicating the relevant tests required. If you self-refer it is important to ensure that a blood form has been raised first, therefore submit an admin Anima first listing what is required this will ensure that when you attend the clinician can follow the blood form that will indicate the required tests.

It was good to actually see a doctor which reassures you that all checks which are taken are ( not saying that previous persons who have done the check are not qualified) but actually seeing a doctor face to face is a rarity nowadays.

It is actually a business like any other but in a medical environment where moneys come anyway because we are forced to pay. So their focus, like any other business is to make money, not to give you all the help and advice that you need so you can be healthy and don’t return to them.

Broken system

This is a review for Cosham Park House Surgery

I submitted a form because you can’t call to speak to anyone. I was seen but it felt like fobbed off with an issue that has been going on and increasingly getting worse over a 2 year period. Pain that has spread. My mum was fobbed off with pain too for a long time and has recently died of 6 different cancers. I was told that one of the issues I have (a limo on my wrist) I couldn’t be seen about, I would need another appointment although from the form I had also mentioned an issue I had for months with my foot and was given an automatic appointment and the dr was very helpful.

Thank you for your comments. I am sorry that you feel the system is broken. We have recently moved over to using Anima, this change was in-line with the Government changes that we must follow. The access is now more equalised. It is important to understand that generally an appointment will be a maximum of 15 minutes, that is full a consultation and all the administration involved in that consultation. I am sure you can understand that in most instances it would only be safe to address 1 concern and sometimes 2. If only 1 concern was addressed you need to submit a further Anima for your other concern. With the best will in the world, it is not possible to cover a multiple of concerns that are not linked in 1 consultation.

Asthma nurse

I had to wait a whole year to get this appointment with the nurse.
Still waiting to see a doctor about a diagnosis I was given by QA 2 years ago.
I can never get an appointment.
So I am not happy with that. Maybe you can get me an appointment..
