I would like the office to phone me early 8.30 in the morning if there is a change of plan, I would like to be sure at getting my permanent carer on her regular days, and of course understand if she is sick or on holiday, but not sent to someone else especially on a Tuesday when I rely on her for my weekly shopping.

The Curate's Egg?
Some carers regard the work as just a job and do not exhibit much real care for the patient. Others I am glad to say seem to really care for the patient, putting that little bit extra in over and above what they are paid for. I think the one thing that struck me the most is the way many of the carers cannot make a bad properly or even make it look tidy after their effort. Time keeping never seems to be a priority and I think the firm should hire more young women to cover for holidays, sickness etc.

Lillyfields have been a rescue service for us. My elderly mum now has someone coming into help her in her home twice a day. It has meant mum is able to stay in her own home and I don't need to worry so much. Lillyfields have been great to deal with and very sensitive to mum maintaining her independence.

Three cheers for the carers
In a thankless occupation with every hindrance surmounted by a very varied team of individuals I have enormous admiration for those who earn their living as carers. Inevitably one hears of other clients at times and I am personally shocked at the attitudes of some towards the needs of carers and the treatment they sometimes receive. The think I find hardest is to attain a balanced attitude between the needs or carers and clients, it is difficult to be impersonal when so intimately attended.

The well dressed, professional looking carers of Lillyfields are with few exceptions very good. Caring, well trained, personable and I would say above average in the home care business. The carers I have are trustworthy and have use of a key safe lock for the front door.

Lillyfields carers usually arrive at about the time they are due, or if they have been very delayed, usually phone to say when they are likely to arrive. They do washing and dressing and thoroughly and carefully and will do any extra little jobs quite willingly. I am very satisfied with their help.

We were very apprehensive of moving to Lillyfields as the current care agency were unreliable. Lillyfields have given us new hope in care agencies. They are reliable, usually sending the same carer daily. The office contacts us if the carer is going to be late. The carers are well presented, reliable and compassionate.
