Very clear website
I really liked the way the information on their website was clearly set out and easy to find. Quite clear about what the insurance gives me and what it doesn’t etc. Spoke to them on the phone as well and they were very helpful, knowledgeable and reassuring.

Very pleasantly surprised to receive a price better than my previous years cost of cover with Magnet Insurance. Also as an extra perk, I took the policy out through "confused" and got a £20 voucher for "Dominos pizza".

Inconsistent renewal figures
The renewal information you sent by email weeks before I actually phoned to make a change and renew did not agree with the sum insured figures quoted on the phone and had been increased yet again. I had to give up trying to understand what your operator was trying to reason and ask for another email so that I could compare the two. I then renewed on line.

I have never had to make a claim, but Magnet Insurance has a good reputation amongst friends who own model railways and the cost has remained the same for 6 years! I just had a quote for house insurance which saved me 10% against my previous insurer.

Not impressed with a £34 policy administration fee
The policy covers everything I need to have covered in a home contents policy. The questions below are not relevant to me. I sourced the policy myself on the internet. I did not receive any service / advice / recommendations from anyone.

Thank you for taking out a policy with Magnet Insurance and we appreciate your points raised. We try our best to keep fees and commission rates down when offering quotations as much as possible. Most of our competitors charge 25% in commission fees whilst we only charge 6% plus the £34 fee. The total of the two is still less than our competitors in most cases. We also do not charge any adjustment fees if you need to make a change on your policy unlike many of other providers as well.

Nice price but lack of contact
I went for the quote which was very competitive and it is a name I know. However, I would have liked a chat with someone before I signed up and requested a call back. I got a text message from Magnet to say my call was due but it never came. That is not good in terms of reliability.
