When I paid direct debit on the phone, I was not informed in advance that I have to sign on line, otherwise it will affect my Home insuarance. Due to being away, I was unable to check my emails, until the last day.
I hope this will not cause an issue with my Home Insuarance policy.

We pride ourselves on the service we provide to our customers and always aim to provide a great service. Therefore we were disappointed to hear that we may fallen short, for which we apologise. The monthly payment service we offer via Close Brothers Premium Finance, is what we call ‘Telesign’, i.e. we can set it up over the phone. Close Brothers Premium Finance are required to issue you with a copy of your Credit Agreement and ask for a signature online. I apologise that this wasn’t explained to you on the phone.
However, under the terms of our Home Insurance policy, we would never cancel a Home Insurance policy without giving reasonable written notice. As this is a ‘telesign’ arrangement, i.e. contract was set up and concluded by phone, even if you don’t sign the Credit Agreement, this would not lead to the cancellation of either the monthly payment arrangement or Home Insurance. Close Brothers do not cancel ‘telesign’ Credit Agreements for no signature but they must be seen to be trying to obtain a signature.
