We were referred to 'The Vet Dentist in Harrogate' due to our dog, Molly, experiencing issues with her jaw and teeth. From the very first referral through to the end of the treatment process, everything was explained clearly and thoroughly, which gave us so much confidence in the care she was receiving.

We were incredibly happy with the level of care and treatment provided for Molly. Everything felt genuinely personalised to her needs, and it was clear that her wellbeing was always the priority.

A special mention must go to 'Nicola on reception', who was attentive, supportive, and always ready to help with any questions we had. 'Vet George' was professional, reassuring, and clear in his explanations, which really helped us understand each step of Molly’s treatment.

We would also like to extend a big thank you to the 'veterinary nurses' who supported Molly throughout the entire process—their kindness and expertise made such a difference.

We are delighted to say that Molly is recovering well, and the treatment has certainly made a noticeable, positive difference to her.

We were referred to Vetdentist due to changes in Poppy's behaviour which suggested oral/dental pain. We asked for the referral so that any needed work could be completed at the same time as investigations, reducing the number of anaesthetics. It was a LONG day - four hours of driving, and a long wait whilst investigations were completed. It was very much worth the effort, and waiting. Poppy was in the care of George Lovin.

George was very thoughtful clinically; clearly incredibly experienced, and explained what would happen, and potential outcomes/scenarios. He was also kind and patient, and adaptable to Poppy's needs. She's an anxious rescue, who is a bite risk when very scared - and unfortunately has lots of health issues so has lots of vet involvement. George kept things as relaxed as possible, and we were able to stay with Poppy after her sedative in a quiet room, until she was asleep. This vastly reduced her stress, (and also my worries about her feeling the need to get her teeth out) and allowed the sedative to take effect well. I then muzzled her with her own familiar muzzle before the nurse carried her through. The nurses we met were also lovely and kind, as was Nicola.

When we collected Poppy, George went through all the imaging with us really thoroughly, and explained his interventions clearly. We would absolutely recommend VetDentist, the whole experience has been really positive, from the initial contact with Nicola, to her discharge. We are today managing the emotional fallout for Poppy from yesterday's appointment, but that would have been a whole lot worse with a less accommodating and supportive vet. Thank you very very much, from Lynda, Nick and Poppydog.

The care Vet Dentist provided for our cat Nala was excellent and we are very grateful. From reception to theatre, the entire team was very friendly and welcoming. Bob explained in detail everything that was going to be done and informed me of any changes or additional procedures, gaining consent before continuing.

Nala went in for surgery and came back a different cat, well groomed and fed. We were expecting her to be drowsy and withdrawn afterwards (as we had experienced with another vet), but instead she came back happy, running around and playing. It’s now a week and she’s still her normal playful self.

We rescued our boy in January this year, and he’s faced one challenge after another with his gums and teeth — from pain and not eating, to awful breath, ongoing infections and inflammation.

Our local vet referred us to the Vet Dentist, and on 30/09 we met Bob. He performed surgery that day, and our boy needed several teeth removed along with treatment for gingivitis and other issues.

Bob was brilliant! He explained everything clearly, showed us detailed images of the procedure, and really reassured us about Dexter’s condition and the treatment he underwent.

Nicola has also been super helpful with great communication on any queries I have, and checking in to see how Dexter is doing.

Within a couple of weeks of treatment, Dexter’s gums looked better than ever, his breath was normal, and for the first time he even let us brush his teeth — something that was impossible before!

Today, 6 weeks later we went back for a check up, expecting more surgery, but thankfully it wasn’t needed. Further treatment has been delayed until April. We’re over the moon that our boy is finally happy, comfortable, and pain free.

A huge thank you to Bob for his understanding, support, and expertise. We’re so grateful for the great care he’s given Dexter and the support to us throughout this emotional and overwhelming process.

I hadn't realised my dog was in pain with her tooth until we had it fixed by Bob Partridge at Vet Dentist, but the difference when she came home with a new root canal was amazing.
It had been easy to dismiss her panting as being too hot, her inability to settle as being excited and her lack of interest in food as being bored.
They were all signs of pain. I am so glad we could get her sorted out and now she is full of vigour and fun. Thanks to the team at Vet Dentist

George the vet was very professional.
He explained everything in great detail when our dog Cain needed his tooth out due to a fractured tooth.
He went through options just in case our first option couldn't be done.
On picking Cain up he went through the procedure again in great detail showing us the xrays and pictures of Cains mouth.
When we took Cain for a check up at our regular vets the week after she commented on what a great job George had done.
Nicola also got in touch a couple of times checking on Cains progress.
Very professional would definitely recommend.

George the vet, could not have been any more thorough. He explained the procedure for our dog Bobby and kept us updated during the day. After the operation he went through all the photographs taken during his CT scan to explain what had been done and why. He could not have been more professional but at the same time was very caring towards Bobby.

Such a friendly and caring team. Our lab had to undergo extensive dental surgery and we were understandably nervous , however the team treated our dog as one of their own and gave us lots of information and reassurance. The procedure was carried out beautifully and the aftercare was fantastic with regular check ins.
10/10 would recommend.

Very good experience we can report. Our dog had root canal treatment and from the walking into the surgery to walking out they were very informative, explaining treatment and aftercare. All medication was explained thoroughly. Nicola was so quick replying to queries by email and sent everything we needed.

An absolutely fantastic specialist veterinary practice, where Bob Partridge the vet and the veterinarian nurses went above and beyond to help my dog who had to have major surgery.
The immediate aftercare following the operation for my dog was second to none, especially as the operation was far more complicated than was first thought. The veterinarian nurses stayed way past the end of their usual working day to care for my dog until she was safe to travel home.
I would highly recommend using this specialist veterinary practice if your dog or cat needs dentistry care.

My visit was on 29th July 2025, for consultation and potential life saving operation for my Lhasa Walter. After CT scans and X-rays Bob advised to go ahead with surgery on a mass in my boys jaw. Walter was treated with care throughout and despite it being radical surgery, he is recovering well. Bob knows his stuff, and has telephoned to check everything is going well on several occasions, also liaising with my vet. Would recommend using Vet Dentist if you want to know your pet is in knowledgeable and safe hands.

Totally agree with all the 5* reviews here . My little Bertie could not have been better looked after when he went in with a fractured tooth. How lucky we are to have such a wonderful team and such a fabulous facility in North Yorkshire ! Really good experience having our elderly dog assessed and treated. Especially liked the different ways in which information was provided. Staff super-friendly and really gentle and patient with the dog.

Bob Partridge and his colleagues treated our very elderly and frail cat suffering from bad dental disease. I cannot thank them enough. Their expertise literally saved his life: it was a 4 hour operation which was difficult. Our general practice are very good but I don't believe that they would have had the expertise for this. I would strongly recommend Bob and his colleagues to anyone whose pet needs dental treatment.

Our little dog needed specialist dental treatment, and VetDentist were brilliant in providing it. George was our Vet dentist, and he looked after her so well. The reception staff are lovely and welcoming too. If your pet needs specialist dental care, look no further than VetDentist

My boy, Simba recently had his tooth proceedure done by the wonderful staff at Vet Dentist, Harrogate. After suffering from trauma due to an accident when he was younger, he developed enamel damage and due to him being a young dog, I wanted to try salvage the tooth, if it was safe to do so. I got a referral from my usual vets and was guided through the process by the wonderful receptionist/administration team member, Nicola via email.

Admittedly, I was incredibly anxious about the whole situation, I knew it needed to be done and would never set my dogs up to suffer, I was more worried about it because I'd never had anything like this happen, didn't know how Simba would do, or had to deal with a claim through an insurer before. I was reassured by all and my request to have an initial consultation before the procedure so I could get an idea of full costs, the environment, what had to be done to send to my insurer the info and expose my boy to the environment was so SO appreciated. I also requested to stay with Simba as he got sedated/once he was "droozy" on the day.

All of my requests were kindly met and respected, I was reassured by the staff and the wonderful vet George, who was so patient with me and simba. All of it was all in Simbas' best interest as he was pretty happy going in, cooperative, settled well and apparently wasn't panicked when he came around from the procedure. I was given a coffee upon waiting, had lovely chats with Nicola (it was lovely to meet in person). I wasn't rushed or anything which helped so much.

The follow up care was all discussed and given to me written, to ensure I could care for Simba well afterwards and make sure he had a check up with my vets afterwards. I also recieved follow up emails and calls to check in on Simba.

In conclusion and upon reflection, I think to myself "why was I so worried" as Simba and myself were cared for so efficiently. If anyone needs specialised care for their dogs teeth, I'd 110% reccomend the wonderful team at Harrogates Vet Dentist, I honestly can't thank you all enough.
