Vet Dentist

My dog recently underwent surgery at VetDentist based in Harrogate for lingually displaced deciduous canines .
From the first contact I had with the practise until after the surgery was performed I have been kept fully informed about the process and costs involved either by email or phone contact .
Reception staff and the vet have always been polite ,professional ,extremely helpful and reassuring .
The vet we saw ,George Lovein ,who carried out the proceedure explained things in great detail and in a way that was easy to understand both before and after the surgery had been carried out .
The vet came across as being kind and caring and I felt reassured that my dog was going to receive the best possible care whilst she was in his care .
I received further contact from the vet several days later to offer post op follow up and to answer questions I had regarding my dogs care .
I would be happy to recommend VetDentist to other pet owners .

The service at Vet dentist was absolutely amazing,Bob did a brilliant job on Lucy who had chronic dental disease which extended to her nasal cavity,she needed several teeth removed and all the pus cleaned out and a repair where her canine teeth had been extracted,there was much more damage than we first thought ,we are so pleased we took Lucy to Vet dentist as all the team did a great job of looking after her and we can’t thank them enough or Bob Partridge for his expertise,Lucy is now recovering well thanks to them

The service from the Vet Dentist was second to none. Sadly Bob the Dentist found that my lovely gentle greyhound lily had lots of teeth abscess 's, plus a severe infection to as well. Bob and his team worked long and hard to help lily feel more comfortable, the op took way longer than any of us planned. As late as it was Bob and his fantastic team of nurses (Beverley and Becca) stayed over their time to make sure Lily had recovered well enough to make the journey home. Bob also took the time to go though everything, the before and after photos and the scans and explained about the medication Lily would need to take when we got home. I must be honest I did have to call a couple of times, because it was so late when we left I forgot what was said but the lovely receptionist Nicola was fantastic, polite, nothing was to much trouble she asked Beverley the question and got me the answers I needed to keep on top of lily's care. I would highly recommend the Vet Dentist Bob and his exceptional team to anyone needing a Dentist for their pet. Thank you guys for helping my Lily, you were all amazing.

Harry our Golden Retriever had to have a tooth extraction following on from x-rays via our vet and them too. The staff were welcoming and very friendly. Advice was helpful and practical.

5 stars is nowhere near enough to give to this vet dentist practice they deserve far more . We were referred to them with our 17 week old cockapoo puppy Hugo as he had a problem with his puppy teeth . An appointment was promptly made for the 11/02/25 . On arriving at the practice we were met in reception by the lovely Nicola whom immediately made you feel you had made the right decision and put you at ease , she is just a perfect lady for the job.Their was a commercial tv in reception that was really informative about the practice and what to expect and it also displayed all the three pets names that were having treatment that day. We then met Mr Partridge whom was doing Hugo's treatment , what a lovely man he is , he not only made you feel at ease but your pet also. He checked Hugo over then made a plan to remove two of Hugo' s baby teeth that were causing him issues. The whole process was explained to us thoroughly and we were free to ask any questions or raise any concerns if we had any . We then left Hugo in their care and were told we could phone at any time for an update if we wished . But someone would contact us before 3.30pm with an update if we hadn't heard from them beforehand. As promised promptly by 3.30pm we were contacted and told we could make our way back to the practice where Mr Partridge would talk things over with us how things had gone . He showed us in great detail what he had done with Hugo's procedure . He thanked us for our custom and passed us over to George whom talked us through pain relief that Hugo would need for the next few days. Hugo was then free to go , with a safe journey home to him and his 2 new pals displayed on the screen in reception. He slept all the way home and had a really good night's sleep as he usually does then on Wednesday he woke up full of cockapoo attitude 😆, He was in fine fettle and has been ever since .we cannot thank Mr Partridge and all of his team for all they have done for Hugo and for all the love and care they gave to him during his stay. We cannot speak highly enough of them and would definitely recommend them to anyone.

My 4 year dog Buddy fractured a tooth and once I was aware of it I took him to my local vet.

I was referred to Vet Dentist in Harrogate by my vet in Saltburn as my vet could only offer an extraction as a treatment but alternative a treatment was possible.

My vet contacted the Vet Dentist and referred Buddy. They contacted me later the same day and a provisional appointment made. They advised me at that point that because of the distance we were travelling it would be likely that Buddy would undergo treatment the same day.

From the greeting awaiting us at the door, it was obvious that thought and care had been given and that personal touch made a positive impression on my as an owner.

We were seen immediately and Buddy given a thorough examination. Having watched the video the practice sent to me prior to our appointment, I knew the level of quality and level care were exemplary. I also learned that there are only 6 small animal dental specialists offering this service in the country, the other 5 being in the south of the country. Mr.Partridge the only specialist in the North of England. How fortunate are we!

Mr Partridge was very reassuring and I knew Buddy was in safe hands and whatever treatment was necessary, his welfare and comfort was the priority.

I was given a plan of action, signed the necessary consent forms and left the rest to Bob and his team.

Nicola in reception was SO kind thought the day as I opted to remain on the premises whilst Buddy underwent his treatment. The plan needed to be altered but I was consulted about the options available and put my trust in Mr. Partridge doing what, in his judgement was best for my dog.

Buddy was handed over to me after he recovered from the anaesthetic later in the day and I was allowed to take him out to toilet and sit with him in the reception area until they were satisfied he was good to go.

I was given meds and detailed instructions of the next steps and post operative care.

Buddy had no issues post surgery. Was in no pain later in the evening. Had a light meal of scrambled following the advice given. He manages the stairs, a leap onto the bed and slept through until morning. This morning his normal self, though obviously mindful that his mouth will be sore. Pain relief and antibiotics administered, again following the detailed guidance given by Bob and a written copy just in case I should forget anything.

I can’t thank the team enough for the care of Buddy. Velcro dog and other than his daily walk and fortnightly hydro session, he never leaves my side. My dog is my life having waited 65 years to get him.

I was really apprehensive and anxious prior to our appointment. However, having met Bob those concerns were completely blown away. He was so kind, so understanding and so professional in explaining every step and the options, my fears evaporated.

We are back in two months to have the second part of the root canal procedure undertaken. I now have a totally different mindset. Not in the least bit apprehensive or anxious about taking him and mentally prepared for the next step.

And once again I’d like to thank Nicola in Reception who was kindness itself and made sure I had a cup of tea to keep me going throughout the day. Seems a small thing in many ways, but showed thought and kindness and was appreciated.

Pleased that I asked if there were alternative dental treatments available other than extraction at my local vet. If Bob agreed with their diagnosis and extraction was the best procedure for the dog then at least Buddy now was in the best place to get the best care by a great team of experts looking after him every step of the way. Safe hands folks. Safe hands.

The Vet Dentist have been very helpful and provided great care of our dog who had her first dental work last month. They got in touch quickly following the referral from our vet, answered any questions we had via email and sent a helpful video explaining the process. It was lovely to get a call from them the following day to check in and see how she was doing. They also sent a detailed report including photos to us and our vet.

Very professional and caring team. Bob was so incredibly thorough going through things before surgery and after surgery showing images of my Chihuahuas dental issues and what had been done in surgery. Thank you for everything you have done.

Our 12 year old cross Jack Russel/Beagle dog, Mason, who can be a really anxious little dog, received a welcoming and reassuring reception from Nicola, soon followed by a thorough explanation of the process of treatment from a very professional vet dentist, George Lovin. Post treatment explanation of events, with photos and x-rays to help. George was again very thorough and detailed, supplying full post operative information for Mason including medication and follow up advice.

We took our spaniel to the vet dentist as she’d broken her tooth and I wanted to see if it could be saved. Unfortunately not, but after a comprehensive initial consultation we were able to leave her at the vet dentists for an extraction and collect her late afternoon on the same day.
I felt very confident about the service having watched the video I’d been sent before our appointment - I think the practise easily rivals - and probably surpasses - a human dentist surgery. Indeed, I shared the video with dentist friends and they all said they’d gone into the wrong profession!!
After treatment, our spaniel has been very well - in fact I’d say that her only upset came from being starved on the day of treatment! She doesn’t seem to have had any discomfort or after effects from the anaesthetic or extraction.
The post operative advice was really helpful in terms of ongoing care of her teeth.
In summary, I’m so pleased I took her to the vet dentist - I know friends who’ve taken their dogs to their own vets for treatment and it’s not gone very well at all. Here, the specialist knowledge of Bob and his team made it plain sailing - so, if you are able to afford it and can travel to Harrogate, I wouldn’t think twice.

Was really nervous going to a specialist dentist as never done anything like this before and not even insured.
George was good and tried to make it cheap as possible with not been insured.
.Esme the Doberman is all good now and recovered from her fang tooth out and the hole in the upper gum has now disappeared.

We were referred to the VetDentist by our regular veterinary practice as they informed us that the VetDentist specialises in complex procedures.

Our dog Wren is 10 years old and in her past has been a working Labrador (not with us I might add). Her teeth were in a terrible state when we took her on at the age of 5, with 16 immediate extractions and more to come over the years. Recently Periodontal decease has taken a firm hold with a number of roots still in place causing major discomfort and very bad breath from our old girl.

We have had experience of Wren's recovery after the numerous anesthetics she has had being a slow painful process lasting a number of days. At VetDentist this was not the case. Wren's procedure included the successful removal of 8 roots and her recovery from the anesthetic was close to immediate. She was like a spring chicken by the next morning. Well done to VetDentist and grateful thanks from us and Wren.
