Vet Dentist

We visited Bob, Georgina and the team twice last year. Our puppy had lingually displaced deciduous canines and I asked our usual vet for a referral to Vet Dentist, having done some tactical googling - we had our appointment booked the following day.

The practice is state of the art, and the team are very clearly experts at what they do. Communication is excellent - what will be done, costs, potential risks - and the admin team helped us with the insurance claim.

Our puppy, Nell, happily trotted off without a second look at us, and it was fascinating to see the X-rays and surgery pictures afterwards when being talked through what had happened.

Nell required a secondary procedure on her follow up appointment, and again, her treatment was second to none.

Although Nell was last at vet dentist in the summer, I have recently contacted the team for some dental advice which they’ve been more than happy to provide. I’m so grateful.

I wouldn’t hesitate to recommend Vet Dentist, and it’ll be our first port of call for any issues in the future. A huge thanks again to the team!

Our German Shorthaired Pointer, Zola, was treated by Bob on Tuesday 9 April. The treatment plan was described and we agreed to proceed as Zola had a tooth which had been damaged and was clearly discoloured. We did not want Zola’s tooth to become problematic and cause her distress. Bob carefully recorded his procedure with photographs and X-rays. When we returned to collect Zola he explained everything he had discovered and how he had treated Zola. He was very thorough and very careful with his treatment. Zola has to return to complete her treatment in May. She was sleepy after her anaesthetic but the next day was bouncy. Her throat was painful after the breathing tube but not too distressing. We had a follow up phone call on the next day and a copy of the report to our vet was forwarded to us. There was full transparency from Bob. We met the vet nurse who was lovely and also Nicola who was equally lovely. I would thoroughly recommend care and treatment from Vet Dentist. Thank you to everyone in the practice. See you in May!

From start to finish my experience was first class. Basil (cat) was referred for specialist care following a traumatic RTA. From the initial call from Nicola to arrange Basil's first appointment, through to the follow up call after Basil had been home for a few days after surgery, the care and expertise has been second to none. The impact on Basil's wellbeing is way beyond my expectations and I can't recommend the practice more highly. Thank you.

I could not recommend this practice enough. Georgina detected a heart murmur and found that my cat needed 6 teeth removing that were causing her pain after vets at a different practice said she was healthy. She is a great vet, she explained every step very clearly and walked us through the x-rays and post op pictures after the surgery. She is very competent and compassionate, she made sure my cat had all of the home comforts we'd brought for her with her after surgery. The practice called me the next day to check on my cat as well.

We were referred by our local vets when Missy, our tiny Maltese, had retained her deciduous teeth. We soon got a phone call from the lovely staff at The Vet Dentist in Harrogate and an appointment was made. I had spoken to the staff prior to the appointment as I was quite anxious as Missy is rather small for her breed and weighing in at 1.2kg. The staff were very kind, courteous and lovely which helped ease my anxiety. On the day, we were welcomed by reception staff and met the lovely Georgina Wells. We received detailed information as to what was going to happen with Missy and we knew she would be looked after and well cared for. Throughout the day, we received phone calls from The Vet Dentist regarding updates on Missy. Missy had quite a lot going on in her tiny mouth; the top of her jaw was the main focus at that time and we were advised that a second appointment was needed for the bottom jaw. For me, this just shows their commitment to the pets they have in their care and their health is priority. We have a second appointment booked and will be travelling to Harrogate again, quite soon, for her bottom teeth to be extracted. We are looking forward to seeing you all again!

I highly recommend The Vet Dentist. They are dedicated, kind, welcoming and courteous and ensure that the health and wellbeing of the pets they have in their care are put first. Their practice is just amazing and the staff are just lovely. I know Missy received lots of cuddles, and I know that she was well looked after through the whole process. Our local vets and I received an email detailing the procedure along with radiographs and photos which ensures continuity of care for Missy; we all want the very best for our pets and The Vet Dentist provides this, I wouldn't go elsewhere.

I chose this practice to help with my dachshund’s dental fistula which was causing excessive sneezing and I was very happy with the contact ahead of the surgery, they were very welcoming on arrival given we had travelled some distance and offered facilities such as the loo and a hot drink and have been in touch after the surgery to check in on progress. Very pleased all round and the patient is doing very well!

Staff were great explanations given every step of the way, follow up care was great, what they said they would do they did and great communication with our own vet was great.

Accommodation was nice and relaxing clean and welcoming.

Communication from the outset of referral to VetDentist has been like no other I've received in the past.

It's obvious from interaction with staff how passionate these people are about their jobs, but most importantly, the animals in their care.

My dog Dexter had a long day due to the issues he had, but the care he received pre and post operation was brilliant, you can really see how hard the nurses work to make sure the animals in their care are as comfortable and as pain free as possible, constantly checking in on my little man.

You put a very nervous owner at ease.

I was referred to Vet Dentist by my local vet to reduce the height of my puppy's canines as her jaw had not developed correctly.
An appointment was made for the same month but then very quickly rescheduled when her condition worsened. I arrived at the practice to a lovely welcome and was quickly seen by the vet who fully explained the options and procedures in a manner that I could understand.
When I collected my puppy later that day she seemed happier to see the vet again than to see me! We had a very detailed explanation of what had happened and went away happy.
24 hours on and I've got my very naughty puppy back, just with less pain and a much better outlook.

I can not rate Bob and his team high enough for the help they gave us with our pet Eva, she had been really ill following a previous dental by our local vets, originally it was unclear what the issue was but following a visit to the Vet Dentist she had her feeding tube out weeks ago and now is back to herself and fully recovered. Thank you to the 2 ladies that stayed behind late to look after her following her lengthy time under. I can't thank you all enough.
